The brain is the most complex entity in the universe, and is the ultimate exciting frontier of science. It underlies everything that is human, including sensations, movements, emotions, memories, language, planning, imagination, and consciousness. As such, it requires a uniquely diverse set of backgrounds to study it, including Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science, Psychology, Engineering, an

The olfaction research group in the department of neurobiology is about to launch a first-of-its-kind platform to collect data from participants in a unique and VERY rewarding way.
On "Launch day" (this is how we like to call it) only a limited number of invitations will be available. We cannot say much at the moment but be sure to follow us on our new dedicated page - "SmellSpace".

In a recent publication, Dr. Tali Kimchi and Niv Scott, in collaboration with Dr. Ofer Yizhar and Dr. Matthias Prigge, have shown that the same network of brain cells operate differently in male and female mice.

When it comes to parental behavior, researchers have had a hard time pinpointing where, exactly, in the brain differences between the sexes are located and how they translate into behavior. In new research, Dr. Tali Kimchi and her graduate student Niv Scott, in collaboration with Dr. Ofer Yizhar and Dr. Matthias Prigge, a postdoctoral fellow in his lab, all of the Weizmann Institute’s Neurobiology Department, have now shown that the same network of brain cells operate differently in male and female mice.
