Imexco owns exclusively proprietary 'core' technologies that were developed by the company, the Neurology related - the Neuro-Core and the Cardiology related - the Cardio-Core. The Neuro-Core was the base to the successful development of a new neuro-brain monitor - the Neuritor. The Neuritor received the American Food and Drug Administration - the FDA clearance to market it as an Electro-Encephalo-Graph (EEG) device. The Neuritor was licensed to a subsidiary of the Israel Aircraft Industries that went public in the US (NASDAQ-MDTL) in 1993. The American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM) defines pain as – “An unpleasant sensation and emotional response to that sensation”. There are about 100 million people in the United States who suffer from chronic pain. About 80 % of Americans suffer from some form of pain in their lifetime. The costs are estimated to reach as much as $ 61.2 billion per year. We lose billions of dollars per year due to pain in medical costs, compensation and sickness absenteeism. However, most of the productive time lost as a result of pain is due to reduced performance on the job rather than time away from work. It is very difficult to locate the cause of pain and it is more difficult to verify its existence. The detection, verification and classification of pain are important not only to develop the appropriate treatment scheme but also for insurance purposes. Locating the exact muscle or muscles that generate pain may eliminate unnecessary surgeries and other medical treatments, which can save over $25 billion per year in the US alone. Products
Imexco's portfolio contains cutting-edge technological ventures at various stages of development, a partial list is provided below:
* Neuritor - A 30 minute monitor, used in Hospitals as a desktop or ambulatory device for routine EEG recording and analysis.
* CardioScope - A miniaturized 12 channel ambulatory ECG diagnostic monitor.
* Neuro - CPD – A Chronic Pain Detector, which is a digital diagnostic tool for the detection, monitoring and verification of Chronic Pain. The system is built using multi-channel physiological signal processing algorithm in real-time to operate also under ambulatory conditions. Current Status
