WE WON! WE WON! WE WON! ORIGAMETRIA WINS MAJOR ACCELERATOR AWARD.
Four months ago, we pitched our Origametria startup to MassChallenge Israel (MCIL), considered the best startup accelerator in the world. From 350 startups in 20 countries, we became one of 50 MCIL Finalists, itself a huge honour.
Since then, MCIL has been an almost daily part of our lives. We have had free access to top business mentors, top marketing gurus, pitching experts, deck experts …and more, who have groomed and helped the Finalists become ‘investor-ready’. It has been an intense period of learning and re-assessment.
Last week we gave our final 20-min pitch to a panel of 6 edtech and SaaS experts. We thought our pitch was a thing of beauty, but the Q&A was rocky.
Yesterday, at a lavish ceremony in Jerusalem, the 9 MCIL 2023 Winners were announced. I (Paul) could not attend — I’m in Zurich. Miri attended.

It was a major shock, for sure.
Origametria is now recognised as a world-class startup, across all startup sectors, not just edtech.
Our prize — other than bragging rights — is an all-expenses trip to Boston and New York in October for a week of solid pitching to investors, plus a substantial cash award.
It’s an amazing achievement, hard to digest. We won a startup Oscar!
Miri has built an edtech platform of beauty, supported by a world class team of academics, technicians and mentors.
I am in awe of her far vision, tenacity and uncompromising belief in quality.
I created the pitch-deck, with help from many experts, so I’m allowing myself a moment of self-congratulation. I’m very proud of what we achieved.
