Parents of children experiencing anxiety and fears about sleep, this one is for You.
You've been there. That heart-wrenching moment when our little ones struggle with fears and anxieties around bedtime. It's not just about the sleepless nights, but the feeling of helplessness as a parent, seeing them unable to articulate their emotions.
After 15 years of supporting children, teenagers, and their parents, I've distilled some of my insights into a simple yet transformative activity. It's called "A Portrait of Feelings". 🎨
In this video, I walk you through how this activity can elevate your child's understanding of their feelings, allowing them to express, understand, and manage them, especially around bedtime. And guess what? You don't need to be an artist or an expert therapist to facilitate this!
Remember, empowerment starts with understanding. By helping our children comprehend their feelings and offering them tools to navigate them, we not only give them a peaceful night but essential life skills.
Do give it a watch, and I'd love to hear your thoughts, experiences, and success stories. If you're facing challenges or need advice, my inbox is always open. Let's make bedtime a serene experience for all our little ones!
Thank you for the ongoing support and engagement. Sweet dreams to all! πŸ’€πŸŒŒ

As a parent of a 7-year-old who has experienced bedtime fears and anxiety, and as a child’s therapist, I know firsthand how challenging it can be.
This has driven me to dedicate all my efforts to conducting worldwide research. I'm focused on parents of children aged 6 to 12 who feel powerless and unsure of how to effectively ease their child's fear and anxiety at bedtime.
They wish to gain practical knowledge and a clear plan to support their child with these fears and anxieties, assisting their child in building a foundation for emotional well-being, setting the stage for a confident, happy future, and enjoy peaceful bedtimes as their son or daughter falls asleep calmly in their own bed.
They prefer not to give their child medication or food supplements that might have potential side effects.
They are not satisfied with having to sleep with their children every night. Despite their efforts, they struggle to find practical and proven methods to address their child's fear and anxiety at bedtime. This leaves them feeling helpless and uncertain. Witnessing their child's distress takes a significant emotional toll, leaving them feeling drained and overwhelmed.
It would mean so much to me if we could chat for 15 minutes, as I would like to know what topics are of importance to you. If you are open to it, you can use this link to book a call with me: https://calendly.com/dovroit/kidsfearsanxietybedtime

In this latest video, we delve into the initial step to transform those bedtime struggles into serene nights and confident days. I've been holding onto this story for a while now, unsure if I should share it. But something inside me is telling me it's time. So, here goes...
Let me give you a bit of background about me. I'm a certified NLP and Breathing therapy coach. For 15 years, I've been helping kids who are dealing with fears and anxiety. It's been my passion.
About eight years ago, my younger son, who was just six years old back then, started going through really tough times. Every night, he would get really anxious before falling asleep. It was hard on all of us – we were all feeling stressed out, tired, and even angry at times. Our home was tense, and it was taking a toll on everyone.
You know, I've helped so many kids over the years, but when it came to my own son, I felt lost. My natural instinct was to find someone else to help him, even though I knew all the techniques from my coaching. It's strange how emotions can complicate things.
I actually thought about finding another coach for him. But then, he said something that hit me deep down. He looked at me and said, "Dad, you help all those other kids. Why can't you help me?" Ouch, that hurt. It made me realize that I couldn't just stand by and watch.
So, over the next six weeks, we went on a journey together. We had six sessions to tackle his anxiety before bedtime. Looking back, it was a rollercoaster ride, but it was totally worth it.
You know what? I learned some pretty big lessons from that experience. First off, I discovered that the best support a kid can get is from their own parents. It sounds simple, but it's true. And giving my son practical tools to handle his emotions – that turned out to be the best gift I could give him. Not only did it help him, but it also made me more aware of his feelings and the little things that matter to him.
Lastly, being his dad taught me some of the most important lessons in life. Going through this journey together brought us closer than ever. It changed me, and I'll always be grateful for that.
I'm putting this story out there in the hopes that it might help someone else. Maybe you're a parent struggling to help your child, or maybe you're going through your own challenges. Either way, I hope this story shows that you're not alone and that there's always a way through. πŸ™
