The Rimon Association was founded in 2006 by a small group of parents and educators who were dedicated to creating a center of alternative education in the spirit of Anthroposophy for their children. Based in Pardes Hannah, the association operates five pre-schools/kindergartens and a growing school that currently consists of grades one through eight. The school is recognized by the Ministry of Education with the status of "unofficially recognized." The number of children enrolled at Rimon has grown each year; there is a great demand for the ganim, and every year a new grade level is added. There are approximately 400 children currently enrolled at Rimon. Waldorf education was established 100 years ago in Western Europe, and today is one of the largest alternative educational methods in the world. In Israel, there are more than 100 ganim, 16 elementary schools and four high schools. This education system advocates a holistic vision of the child and the development of various skills that expand beyond the existing core issues in the public education system.
