Take those eyeglasses off in school! We wouldn’t want him to grow dependent! 09/01/2020

This is the essence of reading accommodations that level the playing field! I’m so tired of teachers who says that accommodations are cheating or lower a student’s test score if they had someone read to them!

Take those eyeglasses off in school! We wouldn’t want him to grow dependent! Like glasses for kids who have visual impairments, assistive tech tools can help students with dyslexia access grade level content.

Learning to Take Control of Emotional Reactions as Part of Problem Solving. We all encounter problems routinely. Some of them are caused by our own mistakes, such as sleeping through the alarm or missing a meeting. Some are caused by others, (a stolen wallet) & some are just bad luck (getting stuck in a traffic jam)! Just about everything we do throughout the day involves solving some kind of problem; it’s just an unavoidable fact of life. What we can do, however, is learn to manage our problems. This involves, in part, managing the emotions that arise when a problem occurs. It also involves being aware of the effect our reactions to our problems have on ourselves and others. https://www.socialthinking.com/Articles?name=Learning+to+Take+Control+of+Emotional+Reactions+as+Part+of+Problem+Solving&utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=article_learningtotakecontrol
