Midreshet Mattat in Karmiel Israel

Midreshet Mattat is a Women's Institute for Judaic Studies in the Galilee preparing students for meaningful National Service and social involvement.

We are committed to raising students who will impact Israeli Society and make our world a better place. To this end we have situated ourselves in the city of Karmiel in Israel's northern periphery - the Galilee. The Midrasha is housed in a building in the "Founders Neighborhood" - today filled with many social challenges which we are committed to improve. Our students study and live in a very warm

THANK YOU TO ALL OUR FRIENDS AND PARTNERS OF MIDRESHET MATTAT

FIVE YEARS AGO WE STARTED WITH A DREAM . . .
We had eager students, ready to learn and work and serve – to follow in Mattat Rosenfeld's z"l's footsteps – to give of themselves and impact Israeli society.
WE DIDN"T HAVE DORMS YET – so we slept in the Karmiel Absorption Center
WE DIDN"T HAVE A BET MIDRASH - so we were hosted by Mahanaim (An amazing Russian Olim Society) in the local mall

THANKS TO YOU . . .we renovated an old kindergarden into a WARM HOME.

When we finally moved into our new premises, our students slept on mattresses on the floor. They studied Torah, and volunteered and worked and ran the campus like a home: Cooking for themselves, decorating, sewing and gardening.

In our second year we got beds . . . and then cupboards . . . and then bookcases in the Bet Midrash . . .

Our Rabbi's teach us that Avraham, the visionary, was like a MOUNTAIN. Yitzchak who developed his dream was like a PLOUGHED FIELD . . . and Yaakov Avinu was like a HOME.
This year we felt like we had created a HOME for TORAH and CHESED.
