Such a beautiful custom to burn the Hametz with a fire fueled by Lulavim... using items from the last of the Chagim in the year before to start us off on the right track for the coming year.
I’m always reminded of the fact that if you join the last letter in the Torah being a “ל” and the first being a ״ב״ you get ״לב״ (Heart).
As Jews we are never finished, when we complete one cycle we start the next... it’s the same with days, weeks, months...
But we don’t just start from the beginning, we build off the foundation of all that we have accomplished before!

Amidst contemplating how to tell my daughter that asking for help doesn't mean your weak or incapable... I realized I was overdue for a piece of humble pie... So here it goes, as many of you know the Kemach Institute had to close toward the end of last year due solely to financial struggles brought on by some unforeseen circumstances.... The program worked, the kids gained, the teachers were great... we just needed the funding... Kemach is the only truly dedicated Learning Different Gap Year program for non-conventional learners to gain from a year in Israel. I have spent that last year trying to find an individual, foundation, or federation, who would be interested in backing this effort... I need your help, if you know of any foundation, federations, or individuals you think might connect with what were doing at Kemach please reach out and let them know about us and vis versa... and if not then SHARE SHARE SHARE... get this infront of whoever needs to see it!!! This program needs to exist for those students out there that don't have another place to be!!! Thanks - Shimshon Jacob

"Why do we break the middle Matzah at the beginning of the Seder? And why do the children bring back the broken piece of Matzah at the end of the Seder?
The afikomen, the broken matzah represents the brokenness in the world. There are so many broken hearts... broken lives... so many tears. We live in a world of Yachatz, of brokenness. The world is fractured, and we need to know that in order to repair it!
But do you know who will fix the world? Do you know who will bring wholeness to the world again?
Our children. Our children will bring back the broken pieces to make the world whole again." - Reb Shlomo Carlebach {As quoted in The Night that Unites Haggadah - Rabbi Aaron Goldscheider}
And so... Those children who have experienced the most brokenness in the world, those who have struggled more then anyone person ever should have to... it is they that bring back the most broken pieces...
Continue to shower them with love, because the world looks to them to repair the deepest cracks!

Undeterred by some light rain at night, the guys did amazingly climbing the mountains surrounding Ein Gedi. We learned some camping "tricks", some camping "nono's" and even took the time to feed some animals! Guys did awesome, now its time for some well deserved rest, Shabbat Shalom!
