How is AI changing journalism?
This week, we welcomed members of the foreign press corps for a small, hands-on workshop exploring AI tools, practical applications, and the opportunities these technologies are creating for journalists.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants describing the session as insightful, useful, and thought-provoking.
Supporting journalists isn't only about providing access and connections; it's also about helping them stay informed, develop new skills, and navigate a rapidly changing media landscape.
A great morning of learning, discussion, and networking over lunch.
Special thanks to The Israel Institute for Artificial Intelligence for leading such an engaging and valuable workshop and for helping equip journalists with practical tools for an evolving media landscape.

The Civil Commission on October 7 Crimes by Hamas Against Women and Children has published its landmark report, the result of more than two years of painstaking investigation.
The findings are unambiguous: sexual and gender-based violence was systematic, widespread and an integral part of the October 7 attacks and the captivity that followed.
The Commission analyzed over 10,000 visual items, conducted more than 430 filmed testimonies with survivors, hostages and first responders, and documented 13 distinct patterns of abuse affecting victims from 52 nationalities.
The Jerusalem Press Club hosted the exclusive briefing presenting the report's findings, with Co-Founder and Chair Dr. Cochav Elkayam-Levy and CEO and Co-Founder Adv. Merav Israeli-Amarant

Why did Hamas launch the October 7 attack?
A new study based on Hamas planning documents seized during the Iron Swords War argues that Hamas no longer viewed the destruction of Israel as a distant ideological goal, but as an achievable strategic objective coordinated with the Iran-led “Axis of Resistance.”
📌 What do the documents reveal about Hamas’ thinking before the attack?
📌 How did the group assess Israel?
📌 And what assumptions inside Hamas shaped its strategy?
In this Jerusalem Press Club briefing, Prof. Daniel Sobelman of the Hebrew University examines the findings and what they may reveal about Hamas’ wartime calculations.

Ahead of the coming Israeli elections, expected to take place in September or October this year, the Jerusalem Press Club has been conducting interviews with new voices in Israeli politics and in the public sphere.
We have been asking these people the same questions: What should Israel do in its foreign relations, what should it do in internal policy, and what is their vision for the country's future. The opinions expressed below are their own.
What is really happening inside Israel right now?
In this conversation with Rabbi Mikhael Manekin, activist, thinker, and a leading voice in the “faithful left,” we explore the deep tensions shaping Israel’s future after October 7.
This isn’t just about politics.
It’s about identity, responsibility, and the kind of country Israel is becoming.
From Israel’s relationship with the United States to internal divisions over democracy, religion, and military service, this discussion raises difficult questions with no easy answers.
📌Is Israel part of the West—or fundamentally part of the Middle East?
📌Are current Israel–U.S. relations sustainable long-term?
📌Has October 7 changed the core assumptions of Israeli society?
📌Can Israelis and Palestinians realistically live side by side?
📌What is the future of the West Bank, and is the current reality temporary or permanent?
📌Should ultra-Orthodox Israelis be required to serve in the military?
📌Is Israel’s democratic system under strain, and does it need reform?
📌Would a constitution help, or deepen divisions?
📌What role should Arab citizens play in Israel’s political future?
📌What critical issue are Israelis not discussing enough right now?
This conversation doesn’t offer easy conclusions.
But it forces a confrontation with the questions shaping Israel’s next chapter.
