As we approach Shavuos and prepare for the Yizkor prayer, it is customary to give tzedakah for the aliyah of our loved ones' neshamos. By contributing to the Rav Chalkowski Scholarship Fund and supporting ongoing Torah learning in memory of Rabbi Moshe Chalkowski zt”l (Moshe Mordechai ben Meir), your donation provides a dual aliyah, elevating both the Rav’s neshama and that of your own loved one.
This is our chance to continue what he gave us, to ensure that his Torah, his care, and his impact live on in the next generation of Neve students.
Wishing you a Chag Sameach and a meaningful Kabbalas HaTorah!

I was so thrilled to hear that Rebbetzin Rottman wanted to join us for the memorial evening last Sunday. Rides were arranged, and I truly looked forward to seeing her.
For those who remember, Rebbetzin Rottman served as a shadchan/housemother together with Rebbetzin Feldman. Though very different in personality, they complemented each other in the most beautiful way. Rebbetzin Feldman left Eretz Yisrael many years ago so that her husband could assume the role of Rosh HaYeshiva in Ner Yisrael. Rebbetzin Rottman remained for a few more years, and after retiring, devoted herself to caring for her husband, the Rosh HaYeshiva of Mercaz HaTorah alongside Rabbi Kresworth. Rabbi Rottman passed away many years ago.
Unfortunately, Rebbetzin Rottman was not feeling well before the memorial evening and was unable to attend. This past Thursday morning, I took the newly published Rav Chalkowski Q&A book, "The Heart of Wisdom", along with the memorial pamphlet, and went to visit her. I was joined by two fellow alumnae, and together we sat, caught up, and reminisced about our time at Neve. Rebbetzin Rottman was genuinely moved that we came and she was so happy to see us, it meant a great deal to her, and to us as well.
WHY AM I SHARING THIS WITH YOU? The staff at Neve in those early years gave so much of themselves to all of us. It would mean so much to Rebbetzin Rottman to hear from those whose lives she touched. If you are able, please consider visiting her at her Bayit Vegan apartment (call before) or giving her a call (you can write me for contact information), or writing her a few words. You can also email me at [email protected], write Rebbetzin Rottman in the subject line and I will make sure your message reaches her.
I know it would bring her tremendous joy.

From the heart of Yerushalayim we send our warmest wishes to our Neve family around the world.
May we all be zocheh to a Pesach of true freedom and may we be that much more closer to the geulah.

Who remembers making matzah in the library? 😊
What started as a simple activity has become a beloved Neve tradition.
