This week, Bezalel Academy held the 2026 Bezalel Honorary Fellows Ceremony, celebrating individuals whose work has made an outstanding contribution to art, design, architecture, culture, and society.

Congratulations to Prof. Arch. Mike Turner on receiving the Bezalel Honorary Fellow award. We are proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition of his lifelong contribution to architecture, research, and education.

Last week, we opened our 2026 Graduate Exhibition!

The School of Architecture exhibition presents the graduating projects of this year’s students the result of years of learning, research, curiosity, and design as well as a retrospective of 60 years of architecture education at Bezalel.

We warmly invite you to visit the exhibition, explore the projects, and celebrate this milestone with us. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed, supported, and helped make this exhibition possible.

This week, the Bezalel School of Architecture gathered to celebrate and thank Prof. Els Verbakel as she concludes her term as Head of the School. Over the course of her leadership, she has guided the school with vision, generosity, and dedication, leaving a meaningful impact on our students, faculty, and community. We are deeply grateful for her commitment, inspiration, and the path she has helped shape, and we wish her continued success in all that lies ahead.

Exhibition Opening: Liquid Stone

Liquid Stone Lab is an academic platform established at Bezalel Academy, dedicated to exploring concrete as both a construction material and a cultural, spatial, and environmental agent. Through historical research, material experimentation, interpretation, and interventions in iconic concrete structures, the exhibition exposes the inherent ecological and cultural complexity of this unique material, opening a fresh dialogue on the future of the built environment.

The event brought together architects, researchers, and practitioners to discuss how architecture responds to displacement, belonging, and shelter. Through a series of presentations and conversations, participants explored the role of architecture in shaping identity, memory, care, and collective life across contexts of migration, conflict, and urban transformation.

The Bezalel School of Architecture is pleased to invite you to the final reviews of Studio 4 – Complex Building: Twilight Zones, led by Arch. Jacob Tannous (Jacob Tannous) and Arch. Yoav Shayovitz (Yoav Shayovitz).

The studio explored four spaces of “Approaching Jerusalem” : Bible Hill, Jerusalem Central Bus Station, the Ethiopian Quarter, and the Prophets Terminal, threshold sites where the image of Jerusalem is still in the making. Throughout the semester, students developed complex mixed-program buildings that respond to the specific conditions of each site while proposing architectural approaches to the city’s moments of arrival.

The final reviews will take place on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the Bezalel School of Architecture, Bezalel 1, Jerusalem, room 211, according to the following schedule:
