Yeshivat Chachmei Angliyah
It runs during the months of June or July, which fully depends on how the Hebrew calendar works out. YCA was established up in 2011 by Rabbi Daniel Fine.
Yeshivat Chachmei Angliyah; affectionately known as YCA, is an unforgettable month-long summer programme based in Yeshivat Hakotel in the Old City, Jerusalem (please note the great location).

Message from Rabbi Fine, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Chachmei Angliyah:
Last year we launched the maiden voyage of Yeshivat Chachmei Angliyah: a 'learning' summer program for boys based in Yeshivat Hakotel (Old City, Jerusalem) with tracks for returning yeshiva boys and uni students who want a taste of yeshiva life. With (25) boys from Cambridge, Birmingham and Nottingham universities, plus boys from YU, Sha'alvim and Hakotel, the trip proved hugely successful.
The boys enjoyed guest speakers from Roshei Yeshiva, Rabbis and professionals and experts in various fields on topics from kashrus to counselling, from responsibility to science, being Jewish on campus and the world of work. The combination of guest speakers, yeshiva-style learning, trips, and warm atmosphere proved to be a big hit - with the boys gaining much from the program.
This year we are running YCA 2012. The program has two tracks: one for 6th formers (17-18 yr old) looking to get a taste of yeshiva (/early start) and the other for uni/college students returning to yeshiva. The structure will basically remain the same as last year's program, plus better trips and more exciting features to the learning. The main features/advantages of the program are:
Guest speakers: from Roshei Yeshiva, professionals, maggidei shiur and experts in their fields - from psychology to motivation, time management to various topics in halacha and hashkafa
Medical course and kashrut course
Trips, seminars, shabbaton
Build skills in a structured program: gemarra skills, life skills, education skills.
Experience living in the Old City for just under a month
Grow. And help others do the same.
The current info for YCA 2012 is that dates are 24 June - 19 July, and it looks like Hakotel will once again be the venue.
I keep the price deliberately low (it;s not a business). The price of this year's program is £550 (excl. flights - each student organises their own flights)
I've attached some pics from last year's program, as well as a list of last year's guest speakers so you can get a bit of a better idea of YCA.
Note: places are limited. If you'd like some more information or to apply, contact me ([email protected])
Thanks,
Chanukah Samayach,
Daniel Fine
