❓ هل كل طفل متأخر دراسيًا لديه صعوبة تعلم؟

ليس بالضرورة.

قد يتأخر الطفل دراسيًا بسبب عوامل مختلفة، مثل:
📌 فجوات تعليمية سابقة
📌 غياب متكرر عن المدرسة
📌 صعوبات لغوية
📌 ظروف نفسية أو بيئية
📌 طريقة تعليم لا تناسب احتياجاته

بينما تكون صعوبة التعلم المحددة مرتبطة بنمط مستمر من الصعوبات في مهارة أو أكثر، مثل القراءة أو الكتابة أو الحساب، رغم حصول الطفل على فرص تعليم مناسبة.

لذلك، انخفاض العلامات وحده لا يكفي للحكم على وجود صعوبة تعلم.

🔎 السؤال الأهم ليس: "كم علامته؟"
بل: "لماذا يواجه هذا الطفل هذه الصعوبة؟"

فهم السبب يساعدنا على اختيار الدعم المناسب بدل وضع الطفل في قالب لا يعكس قدراته الحقيقية.

🧠 طفلك يعرف الإجابة… لكن عندما يُطلب منه أن يكتبها، يضيع؟

قد يشرح لكِ الفكرة شفهيًا بشكل ممتاز، ثم يجد صعوبة كبيرة في كتابتها.

قد يعرف طريقة حل المسألة، لكنه يخطئ عندما يبدأ بالكتابة.

وقد يقرأ كلمة بشكل صحيح اليوم، ثم يخطئ فيها غدًا.

❗ هذه التناقضات لا تعني بالضرورة أن الطفل "لا يدرس" أو "لا ينتبه".

أحيانًا تكون هناك مهارات أساسية تؤثر في الطريقة التي يستقبل بها الطفل المعلومات، ويحتفظ بها، ويسترجعها ويعبّر عنها.

لذلك، عندما نلاحظ فجوة واضحة بين ما يعرفه الطفل وما يستطيع إظهاره في المدرسة، من المهم أن نسأل:

🔎 هل المشكلة في المعرفة نفسها، أم في الطريقة التي يصل بها الطفل إلى هذه المعرفة ويعبّر عنها؟

فهم هذه الفجوة قد يكون خطوة مهمة نحو الدعم المناسب.

💬 هل لاحظتِ هذا النوع من التناقض عند طفل تعرفينه؟

🔍 5 علامات قد يلاحظها الأهل في البيت قبل أن يطلبوا تقييمًا لصعوبات التعلم

أحيانًا لا تبدأ المشكلة بدرجة منخفضة أو شكوى من المدرسة. قد تظهر أولًا في تفاصيل يومية بسيطة:

1️⃣ الطفل يتجنب القراءة أو يشعر بالتوتر عندما يُطلب منه أن يقرأ بصوت عالٍ.
2️⃣ يحتاج وقتًا أطول بكثير لإنهاء واجبات تبدو بسيطة بالنسبة لعمره.
3️⃣ ينسى ما تعلمه بسرعة رغم كثرة المراجعة والتدريب.
4️⃣ يخلط بين الحروف أو الكلمات أو يكرر أخطاء معينة باستمرار.
5️⃣ يقول عبارات مثل: "أنا ما بفهم" أو "أنا غبي" بعد تكرار التجارب الصعبة.

⚠️ وجود علامة واحدة لا يعني أن الطفل لديه صعوبة تعلم.

لكن عندما تتكرر عدة علامات وتؤثر على التعلم أو ثقة الطفل بنفسه، فمن المهم التوقف ومحاولة فهم ما الذي يجعل التعلم صعبًا بالنسبة له بدل الاكتفاء بزيادة الضغط والتدريب.

💙 أحيانًا السؤال الصحيح ليس:
"لماذا لا يحاول أكثر؟"
بل:
"ما الذي يحتاجه حتى يستطيع أن يتعلم بشكل أفضل؟"

إذا كنتِ أمًا أو معلمة، أي علامة من هذه ترينها أكثر لدى الأطفال؟

🚨 هل تعلم أن الطفل قد يكون ذكيًا جدًا... ومع ذلك يعاني من صعوبة في القراءة أو الكتابة؟

كثير من الأهالي يعتقدون أن صعوبات التعلم تعني ضعف الذكاء، لكن الحقيقة مختلفة تمامًا.

قد يمتلك الطفل قدرات عالية في التفكير والإبداع، ومع ذلك يواجه تحديات في القراءة أو الكتابة أو الحساب بسبب صعوبة تعلم محددة، وليس بسبب قلة الذكاء أو قلة الجهد.

✨ الاكتشاف المبكر والدعم المناسب يمكن أن يغيّرا مستقبل الطفل الأكاديمي والنفسي بشكل كبير.

📖 عندما يواجه الطفل صعوبة في القراءة… هل المشكلة دائمًا في القراءة نفسها؟

أحيانًا لا تكون صعوبة القراءة ناتجة عن قلة التدريب فقط، بل قد ترتبط بمهارات أساسية مثل:

🔹 الوعي الصوتي وتمييز الأصوات.
🔹 سرعة استرجاع الكلمات.
🔹 الذاكرة العاملة.
🔹 القدرة على الربط بين الحروف والأصوات.

فهم السبب وراء الصعوبة هو الخطوة الأولى لاختيار الدعم المناسب.

كل طفل لديه نقاط قوة، ودورنا كأهل ومعلمين هو اكتشاف الطريقة التي تساعده على التعلم بثقة.

Ableism

When we hear the word ableism, we often think about obvious discrimination. Someone being excluded. Someone being mocked. Someone being treated differently because of a disability.

That certainly exists.

But I think a lot of ableism is far quieter than that.

It’s the assumption that everybody should be able to do things in the same way.

It’s expecting someone to justify why they need support.

It’s seeing an adjustment as an advantage rather than the removal of a barrier.

It’s questioning a need because you can’t see it.

It’s assuming someone is coping because they’ve become very good at hiding the fact that they’re not.

As an independent SENCo, I spend a lot of time listening to families who are trying to explain that their child is struggling. Often the response isn’t a lack of care. It’s a lack of understanding. The child doesn’t look distressed. They attend school. They achieve academically. They appear to cope.

But appearing to cope and coping are not always the same thing.

We have become very good at noticing when somebody cannot meet an expectation. We are less good at asking what that expectation is costing them.

Children do not all experience the classroom, the playground, the dining hall or the school day in the same way. Adults do not experience the world in the same way either.

Some people have to work far harder simply to access things that others take for granted.

That’s why inclusion matters.

Not because people with different needs need fixing.

Not because they need rescuing.

But because barriers exist, and many of those barriers were created by people who never had to think about them in the first place.

The more I work with children, young people and families, the more I find myself returning to a simple question.

Am I looking at the person and wondering why they can’t fit the system?

Or am I looking at the system and asking why it doesn’t fit the person?

Those are two very different ways of seeing the world.
