WHAT IS THE WORLD ALLIANCE OF QARA’IM?

The World Alliance of Qara’im (WAQ) is an international organization of independent Karaites established in 2010, committed to steadfastly upholding the principles of Karaism. Unlike other Karaite groups which have, sadly, given themselves over to compromise with the Rabbanites (Rabbis), or engaged in a policy of pandering to the Christians, the WAQ has never – and will never – concede any of the basic tenets of Karaism. These include an unwavering adherence to the straightforward (but not literal!) meaning of the Torah; the rejection of false philosophies such as Pharisaic / Rabbinical Judaism, Christianity / Messianic Judaism, and Western subjective morality; and the belief that, while Hakhamim can be facilitators in helping others understand the Torah, they are not to play the role of dictator or “Pope”. Rather, it is a basic belief of the Karaite movement that each person should “search well in the scriptures and not rely on another’s opinion.” With that in mind, we offer free Karaite / Torah education and activities to all those who are interested.

JOURNEY BACK TO THE ANCIENT LANGUAGE AND CULTURE OF ISRAEL!

You are invited to join us on an exciting journey – from ancient Israel right up to the latest headlines, from the hills of Jerusalem to the city of Dan in the north of Israel, from the plains of Mesopotamia to the river of Egypt – into the Biblical language, culture and texts of ancient Israel. Our journey will be much more than a rote memorization of words and grammatical rules: we will touch on the latest findings in Biblical archaeology, ancient history, Israelite culture, Tanachic poetry, current events and, ultimately, upon the foundational book of ancient Israel and the entire Western world: the Tanach (Old Testament).

(WE ALSO SPECIALIZE IN MODERN HEBREW FOR THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED.)

Biblical Calendar Society – Seventh Biblical Month – Holiday Dates and Calendar, 2026

———————————
WHAT IS THE BIBLICAL CALENDAR SOCIETY?

The Biblical Calendar Society (BCS) is an Israel-based organization dedicated to:
1. Disseminating knowledge, worldwide, about the Biblical calendar.
2. Providing accurate and reliable monthly new moon observations from the land of Israel.
3. Organizing yearly (springtime) searches for Aviv barley in the land of Israel.
4. Assembling experts and non-experts alike in the pursuit of knowledge about the Biblical calendar, with the purpose of encouraging discussion and debate on the topic of the Biblical calendar and its application in current times.

SELECTED MOON VERSES FROM THE TANACH

“Elohim said, ‘Let there be lights in the sky, to distinguish between the day and the night; let them be for signs and appointed times, and for [keeping track of] days and years.’” [Genesis 1:14]

“He made the moon for the appointed times.” [Psalm 104:19]

“Hear this, you who trample the needy and do away with the poor of the land, saying, ‘When will the New Moon be over that we may sell grain, and the Sabbath be ended that we may market wheat?’” [Amos 8:4-5]

“This is what Yahweh says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine by night, … ‘Only if these decrees vanish from before me … will the seed of Israel cease being a nation before me for all times.’” [Jeremiah 31:35-36]
