This week’s Parsha teaches us that each of us has our own unique mission in this world.
Jealousy and envy cause us to lose focus on a journey that is uniquely ours.
Our growth begins when we trust that our path, with all its challenges and gifts, is exactly where we are meant to be.

Menashe and Ephraim never wavered in their connection to their family and to G-d, even while living in a foreign land.
We bless our children to live up to these same qualities:to stay rooted, connected, and strong wherever they may be.

This Dvar Torah is dedicated to Rabbi Yaakov Levitan הי״ד, who, like the shamash of the menorah, devoted his life to kindling light and uplifting Jewish souls.
May his memory be a blessing, and may his neshama continue to spread light throughout Am Yisrael.

We are heartbroken to share that Yaakov Levitan הי״ד, a former student of Mayanot, was killed in Sunday’s terrorist attack in Sydney, Australia.
Yaakov studied at Mayanot from 2002–2003 and embodied the light and spirit of the Jewish people.
Our thoughts are with Yaakov’s family, friends, and the entire Sydney Jewish community.
May his memory be a blessing, and may his loved ones know no more sorrow.
