Midreshet Nishmat 2026 Let's ensure every woman has access to compassionate halachic guidance

Nishmat's Yoatzot Halacha Fertility Counselors walk closely with women and couples throughout their fertility journeys — holding them in their hearts and carrying them in their tefillot.

Ahead of Rosh Chodesh Sivan — when it is customary for parents to recite the special tefillah attributed to the Shelah HaKadosh — an idea was born: to gather together and daven for the women and couples still waiting to say this prayer for children of their own.

That vision recently became a reality: a beautiful evening of tefillah and inspiration was held in the Old City, hosted by Nishmat’s Yoatzot Halacha Fertility Counselors in collaboration with Keren Gefen קרן גפן גוף נפש פוריות. 🤍

The Blogs: Yearning for the Shelah’s Prayer: A Rooftop Gathering of Hope From the blog of Michal Roness at The Times of Israel

It was an honor for Nishmat's Yoatzot Halacha Fertility Counselors, in collaboration with Keren Gefen קרן גפן גוף נפש פוריות, to host a deeply meaningful event in the Old City on Motzaei Rosh Chodesh Sivan — an evening of tefillah and inspiration dedicated to all those on their fertility journey.

In preparation for the event, our Yoatzot Halacha Fertility Counselors invited people to send in the names of women and couples to daven for, ultimately receiving 250 anonymous submissions. They also carried with them the women they had supported throughout the past year — those with whom they had shared moments of heartbreak, uncertainty, hope, and happiness.

The evening included words of inspiration from our founder and chancellor, Rabbanit Chana Henkin, followed by tefillot at the Kotel — including the reading aloud of each of the 250 names.

Our deepest hope is that the prayers of all those waiting to build their families are answered l’tova. 💙
