Where Renewal Is Needed Most, It Is Often the Hardest to Achieve
Across Israel, there are cities and communities where buildings are aging, infrastructure requires reinforcement, and the need for urban renewal is greater than ever. Yet, especially in peripheral areas, many renewal projects struggle to move forward due to economic challenges.
This is where KKL-JNF steps in.
KKL-JNF’s Board of Directors has approved an investment of up to NIS 33 million to advance urban renewal plans in peripheral communities and areas along the Syrian-African Rift, including Kiryat Shmona, Katzrin, Hatzor HaGlilit, Safed, Tiberias, and Beit She’an.
Through this initiative, KKL-JNF will support local authorities in developing plans that will enable the strengthening of buildings, renewal of neighborhoods, and improvement of infrastructure, creating a foundation for projects that have struggled to move forward until now.
KKL-JNF Chairman Eyal Ostrinsky said: "A reality has been created in Israel where, in the very places that need renewal the most, it is often the hardest to achieve. Our role is to step in precisely in these places, remove barriers, and create the conditions that will allow projects to move forward."
