Starting the year strong with Torani💪🇮🇱

Torani kicked off 5787 with an unforgettable opening tiyul in the North! From rafting and hiking through some of Israel’s incredible landscapes to learning together and taking on new challenges, the group had the chance to step outside their comfort zones, build connections, and start creating the community that will carry them through the year.

Here’s to a year of Torah, adventure, growth, friendship, and making the most of every moment in Israel!!

Building the next generation of leaders💪

A couple of weeks ago, MTA & Limmud came together at Nes Harim for a Hadracha Seminar filled with learning, growth, and plenty of challenges. From exploring what it means to be a leader, to giving their own TED Talks and hearing from Bnei Akiva leaders themselevs, our participants had the chance to learn, lead, and discover new strengths along the way.

Mechina Olamit 5787 is off to an epic start! 🏃

From hiking and taking on an Amazing Race challenge to activities with Kol Ami, Mechina Olamit has been making the most of these past few weeks! In between Torah learning, volunteering, and preparing for the chagim, there’s been no shortage of adventure, new experiences, and time spent growing together.

Mechina Olamit is World Bnei Akiva’s 9.5-month co-ed Jewish leadership gap year program in Israel for post-high school students from around the world. Combining Torah learning, leadership development, volunteering, Zionist education, challenging hikes, and immersive Israel experiences alongside Israeli peers, Mechina Olamit empowers participants to grow as leaders, deepen their connection to Judaism and Israel, and prepare for the next chapter of their lives.

Kadima gives back! 🌿🏠

As Sukkot approaches, Kadima participants spent time giving back by helping build sukkot for families in need. They help miluim families, the elderly, and other in the community.

From learning and volunteering to experiencing Israel together, these are the moments that make a year in Israel so meaningful.

Kadima is a Jewish gap year program in Israel for young Jewish adults from around the world, combining Torah learning, volunteering, Israeli culture, travel, community, personal growth, and meaningful experiences throughout the country. As a World Bnei Akiva Hachshara program, Kadima helps participants build a deeper connection to Israel, Judaism, and Am Yisrael while developing skills and experiences that stay with them long after their year ends.

Meet Shira Hope, from Westchester, New York, a participant on Mechina Olamit 2025-26, a World Bnei Akiva Hachshara Program.

“Hi! My name is Shira Hope. I’m 18 years old, from Westchester, New York, and I graduated from The Leffell School in 2025.

I chose Mechina because I wanted a more immersive and challenging Israel experience. My year pushed me outside my comfort zone, gave me the opportunity to learn about myself and my values, and brought me experiences and relationships that will stay with me for life.

From the ‘sidra’/‘out’ weeks, like agriculture week and Chovek, to the more structured ‘shigra’/‘in’ weeks, the year was so cool. Through both classroom learning and hands-on experiences, I expanded my knowledge and had so much fun. I genuinely had a life-changing year.

It’s hard to choose just one highlight, but one peak moment was getting the opportunity to visit a tank outpost in northern Israel with my friends and our madrich.”

Mechina Olamit is a 9.5-month Jewish leadership gap year in Israel for high school graduates from around the world. The program combines experiential Torah learning, Zionist education, Jewish Peoplehood, community involvement, leadership development, physical training, Israeli culture, outdoor adventures, and immersive experiences across Israel. Participants live and learn alongside Israeli peers in Jerusalem while developing the skills, confidence, values, and connections to become Jewish leaders in Israel and communities around the world.

Getting into the spirit of the Chag with Limmud! 🌟

Last week, Limmud headed to the Old City for a meaningful Selichot siyur, exploring the streets of Yerushalayim and preparing for the Yamim Noraim together.

A night of connection, singing and getting ready for Rosh Hashanah in the heart of Yerushalayim 🤍

Limmud is World Bnei Akiva’s gap-year Hachshara program in Israel for South Africans and Australians, combining Torah learning, volunteering, community, hiking, MADA and meaningful experiences throughout the country while building a strong connection to Israel and Jewish life.

Did someone say volunteering?

Last week, before the new year, Mechinat Olamit took time to give back and make a difference in the community. One group visited hospital patients, bringing them some sweetness and a little extra joy before Rosh Hashana.

Another group volunteered with Efrat, helping families in need by sorting and preparing essential supplies like diapers and other necessities.

Kadima 5787 Birthright Recap!! 🇮🇱

What a start to the program! From Jerusalem to the Kinneret to Tel Aviv, Kadima participants were busy last week exploring what makes Israel so special. They climbed Masada for Tefillah overlooking the Dead Sea, took part in a geopolitical seminar, visited Har Herzl and Yad Vashem, and headed north to explore the Galil and the Kinneret. They hiked the Banias, toured a kibbutz, learned about Druze culture, and explored Tzfat before continuing on to Tel Aviv.

We can’t wait to see where the rest of the year takes them.

What an epic start to Kadima 5787🔥🇮🇱

The past few days have been packed with meaningful experiences, new friendships, and getting to explore Israel together. From walking through the Old City and visiting the Kotel, to spending Shabbat together in Jerusalem, starting Sunday with tefillah on top of Masada, floating in the Dead Sea, and visiting Har Herzl and Yad Vashem- the group has already experienced so much!!

And today, they headed north to the Galilee, hiking the Banias, touring a kibbutz, experiencing Druze culture, and exploring the area by Jeep.

And this is only the beginning! There’s still so much ahead- net up: Tzfat and Tel Aviv!

Kadima is a World Bnei Akiva Israel gap year program that combines Torah, community, volunteering, travel, and meaningful experiences throughout Israel.
