Grade Five are learning about editing and proofreading, an essential stage of the writing process! ✏️📖

We began by learning how Roald Dahl edited his books before they were published, before putting these skills into practice ourselves.

Working in pairs, the children revisited the diary entries they have been developing over the past few weeks. Using a checklist, they looked carefully for grammatical features including fronted adverbials and expanded noun phrases, while also checking their punctuation and conjunctions.

It was wonderful to see them working together to strengthen their writing.
