In loving memory of Einat Hayak💫

It's been 2 weeks since dear Einat left this world.
As I write, I still feel this heaviness in my heart as I did that day and words might not flow through me as I wish they would, but I want the world to know there was a young woman named Einat and that she was very dear to me, as to many others.
She was a sweet young woman with a good soul, caring and deeply passionate about dance.
Einat first came to my ballet classes at Studio Naim in November of 2022, less than a year ago. She was dressed in her ballet uniform (not a common discipline in the Israeli dance scene), her hair up in a beautiful ballet bun, impeccable yet with a great sense of style, a bit of punk/rock/chic, which obviously drew my attention from that day forth, she was respectful and rarely missed class.
She was beautiful and very special.
Over the very short span of less than a year, we developed a good connection, she would come to me seeking advice or just a good talk before and after class, but due to recent past experiences as an instructor, I drew my limits. It's one of the things I hope to come to terms with in time.
Grief isn't a stranger to me as I'm sure to all of us. Losing a family member or dear friend is deeply painful. The pain doesn't go away. It's just something you learn from and to live with. It teaches you to be more present, to feel more and to love more. This loss, to me, in two weeks has taught me that and more, but the hardest part now, the tragic loss of a student this way, is coming to terms with this absence, this empty space in every lesson...every week... forever.
Grief has also taught me that the last person who would want us to be in such a dark state is the one we grieve for. Therefore, I chose to live through her absence each class with more devotion, more love and more joy, in the hope that some of it will reach her wherever she may be now, to honor her, so that her spirit continues to radiate in every classroom, every stage, in every student, in every step and in every music note, until we meet again...

And finally and most importantly, I want to thank Einat's family for allowing me into their home, for allowing me to share this story and these beautiful photos of her. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you through this difficult process.

Another year of hard work, laughter, lots of sweat, tears of joy, tears of pain, some came, some went, but it flew by and in the end I'm left with so many lessons in spite of being the teacher (isn't it ironic?) and the best of it all, gratitude towards those that made it this far with me.
Thank you as always to my family, my friends, my students, to the parents, and my colleagues for your support and love as always. Without you, it couldn't be possible.

I'm excited and scared of what is ahead now, so many changes but all for the best, all while carrying these beautiful memories with me...

‼️UN VALORE AGGIUNTO

Come ogni anno adesso iniziano le problematiche
scuola/danza.
La danza costa troppo. Troppi compiti da fare, troppi impegni e quindi bisogna eliminare qualcosa.
Innanzitutto iniziamo col dire che un anno di danza potrebbe, pressappoco, costare quanto il cellulare che hanno in mano i ragazzi di oggi.
Dunque, in questo caso, forse la cosa da eliminare non sarebbe la danza.
Troppi compiti? E come mai i veri ballerini hanno conseguito tutti un diploma o addirittura una laurea?
Extraterrestri? Non direi.
Quindi basta con questa storia che la danza toglie del tempo allo studio e non permette di svolgere al meglio l’attività scolastica.
La danza arricchisce la vita del ragazzo.
Gli pone un obiettivo e lo aiuta a diventare esigente con se stesso e perciò a portare a termine per bene tutto quel che si comincia.
Il tempo speso nell’esercitare una disciplina dovrebbe essere visto come una benedizione, in quanto insegna ai ragazzi dei valori oggi rari e in più li tiene occupati in ambienti sani e controllati.
La danza non toglie tempo, gli dà valore.
