A student came to learn English, and her starting point was truly challenging.

She had a grade of zero in English literally zero in tests.

As we worked together letter recognition, basic forms, remedial teaching things started to shift.

In her last spelling test, she scored 100, and in her exam, she got 59. The teacher wrote to her: “Well done, you’ve made such progress!”

Now, the second part of my message,
It’s crucial for educators to encourage their students. “Keep going, well done, you’ve advanced” these affirmations are vital

We must always remember the starting point of each student.

That’s the key.

תחושת מסוגלות בלימוד אנגלית זה מתחיל באמונה

יש אנשים שאומרים:
“אין לי שפה.”
“אני גרוע באנגלית.”
“זה לא בשבילי.”

אבל האמת היא
זה לא שאין לך יכולת,
זה שיש לך סיפור פנימי שמספר לך שאין לך יכולת.

תחושת מסוגלות לא נולדת מהצלחה,
היא נבנית ממנה.

וכאן קורה הטריק:
אם אני לא מאמינה שאני מסוגלת אני לא מנסה באמת
אם אני לא מנסה ,אני לא מצליחה
ואז אני “מוכיחה לעצמי” שאני לא מסוגלת

מעגל שמזין את עצמו.

אבל אפשר גם אחרת.

כשאדם מתחיל ללמוד אנגלית מתוך אמונה קטנה –
לא “אני מצטיין”, אלא,
“אני יכולה להשתפר”
“מותר לי לטעות”
“אני בתהליך”

משהו נרגע בפנים.

הפחד מטעויות יורד
הבושה מתחלפת בסקרנות
והלמידה מתחילה לקרות באמת

ובעבודה עם ילדים (וגם מבוגרים עם אתגרי קשב במיוחד)
זה אחד המפתחות החשובים ביותר

לא ללמד רק מילים
לבנות אמונה.

לא רק לתרגל
לחזק חוויית הצלחה קטנה.

כי ילד שמאמין שהוא יכול
ילמד.
ילד שמפחד שהוא לא יכול
יוותר עוד לפני שניסה.

ואולי המשפט הכי חשוב:
אנגלית היא לא מבחן על מי אתה
היא מיומנות שאפשר לרכוש.

וכשאנחנו משנים את הסיפור הפנימי
היכולת כבר מגיעה בעקבותיו.

ללמוד אנגלית בזמן מלחמה

כשיש הפרעת קשב וזום פשוט לא עובד

יש ילדים (וגם מבוגרים) שבשגרה מתקשים להתרכז.
עכשיו תוסיפו לזה אזעקות, חוסר ודאות, מתח בבית
ותנסו להושיב אותם מול זום ללמוד אנגלית.

זה לא שהם לא רוצים.
זה לא שהם “עצלנים”.
זה פשוט לא מותאם למערכת ההפעלה שלהם כרגע.

הפרעת קשב וסטרס מובילים לקושי כפול
הקשב מתפזר מהר יותר
סף התסכול יורד
הגוף דרוך ולא פנוי ללמידה
המסך הופך למעמיס במקום מסייע

ובזום?
אין קשר עין אמיתי, אין התאמה אישית, אין ויסות בזמן אמת.

וכאן נכנסת החשיבות של עזרה פרטית.

למידה פרטנית בתקופה כזו היא לא מותרות ,היא צורך:

התאמה לקצב של הילד
בניית ביטחון מחדש (“אני כן מצליח”)
יצירת קשר אישי שמחזיק גם רגשית
גמישות ,אפשר לעצור, לנשום, לחזור
שימוש בדרכים יצירתיות שמותאמות לקשב (משחקים, תנועה, דיבור)

במקום עוד חוויית כישלון מול מסך,
הילד מקבל חוויה של הצלחה.

וזה קריטי.
כי באנגלית כמו בחיים
האמונה “אני לא טוב בזה” נבנית מהר, וקשה לפרק אותה.

כהורים, זו לא התקופה “לחסוך” במקום הזה.
דווקא עכשיו ,כשהעולם בחוץ לא יציב
הילד צריך עוגנים קטנים של הצלחה, של קשר, של תחושת מסוגלות.

ולפעמים, מורה אחת טובה שמבינה קשב,
שווה הרבה יותר מ-10 שיעורי זום שלא נכנסים ללב.

ואם אתם רואים שהילד מתוסכל, נמנע, או “מוותר על עצמו”
אל תחכו.

זו לא רק אנגלית.
זו תחושת הערך שלו.

בזמן שילדים בגילו משחקים בחול ורואים ציורים מצוירים, ארבל בן ה-6 יושב מול לוח שחמט ומתכנן אסטרטגיות. הוא מתחרה על תואר אלוף ישראל לנוער בשחמט, ולא מתבייש לספר שזה ממש כיף לו.

Believe in yourself even when nobody else does.

A mistake does not define a person forever.

In 1951, Bette Nesmith Graham sat behind a small desk in a bank in Texas. She was a simple secretary, a newly single mother, with a young son named Michael and a rather empty bank account. Her job was clear: to type. Documents, contracts, again and again.
Bette was not a perfect typist, and the electric typewriters of those days were unforgiving.
One mistake — and you had to start over.
She tried typing more slowly. Practicing more. Nothing worked.
*The despair she felt when, after hours of work, a mistake in the final sentence forced her to throw away the entire document and begin again almost broke her.*

Then, in a completely random moment, when she was asked to paint a holiday decoration on the bank’s window, she noticed something simple: when you make a mistake in a painting — you don’t erase it. You paint over it.

The idea struck her.

That evening she returned home, mixed tempera paint with water in a blender, filled empty nail polish bottles with the mixture, and brought it to work.
When a mistake was made, she simply brushed a layer of white paint over it and typed on top of it…

It worked.

More than that ,it saved her time, and soon it saved time for her colleagues as well.
She called it “Mistake Out,” and later — Liquid Paper, what we know today as correction fluid.
What began in her kitchen grew into orders of hundreds of bottles a month, and then a large order from General Electric. The company expanded, factories were opened, and Bette had become the CEO of an empire.
In 1979, she sold her company for 48 million dollars.

Perhaps not every mistake can be erased, but every mistake is an opportunity to learn and grow.
A mistake , is not you.
Even if you have fallen ,it is a chapter, not the entire story.

During the Gold Rush in the United States in the mid-1800s, A man named R.U. Darby dreamed of finding gold and becoming wealthy.

One day he heard about mines in Colorado, packed his belongings, and traveled there with his uncle, both determined to try their luck. The two began digging in the hard earth – grueling physical work. ״For a long time they found nothing, until one day they noticed a familiar glint: a gold vein.

There was no doubt – they had found exactly what they were looking for. The excitement was tremendous. In their mind's eye they could already see the approaching wealth, the new life that awaited them. But it soon became clear that while the vein existed, continuing to mine significant quantities of gold required heavy, expensive equipment.
Darby approached relatives and acquaintances and convinced them.
The people believed in him, invested their savings, and the equipment was purchased.
The work continued. They dug more and more, but suddenly – the gold simply disappeared. The vein that had yielded gold nuggets stopped producing results. Darby and his uncle kept digging, but every effort came up empty. Exhaustion grew, the money ran out, pressure from the investors increased, and despair began to seep in.
Eventually, they reached the conclusion that there was no point in continuing.
The equipment was sold to a merchant for a pittance, and the two left the mine. That merchant approached a professional mining engineer and asked him to examine the mine. The engineer investigated and reached a conclusion: the gold vein hadn't disappeared – it had simply shifted slightly to the side, a familiar geological phenomenon. He suggested continuing to dig, but this time at a spot located just three feet from where Darby and his uncle had stopped. The merchant followed the instructions.
*Within a short time the gold vein was found again, and this time – in enormous quantities.
The mine became a source of millions in had begun, but they still couldn't see it.
Sometimes our personal salvation is also just "three feet" away from us.
It could be someone waiting for a soulmate, for a livelihood, for children, etc.
*Don't give up*!
Keep "digging." "If you gave hit hard times– keep going!"
In the end, you too will leave
your personal Egypt.
