Play to earn - will the crypto market change the gaming industry?🎮🎮

The global gaming industry is currently estimated at 196.8 billion dollars when it is estimated that there are 3.2 billion gamers. For comparison, the movie industry is a $100 billion industry, and the music industry is a $25 billion industry.
It is estimated that the gaming industry will reach 340 billion dollars in 2027, and currently the industry is enjoying a growth of 8.94% per year.

So what are the main models of game companies through which they make money?
1. The sale of the games themselves, some games are sold at a cost of between 50-80 dollars per game and this serves as a very nice income stream for gaming companies.
2. Extras and Premium Features for the game for an additional fee.
3. Data collection and sale
4. In-game advertisements.

In 2017, a new model was created, which many believe is a Gamechanger, A model called "Play to Earn"-
In this model, which combines cryptocurrencies and NFTs, both the developers of the game and the users can generate a nice financial profit in addition to enjoying the game itself.

How does It Work?
The game companies issue game currency and usually also NFTs, they let players earn coins\\NFTs while playing which can be converted into money later. The gaming company owns a digital asset that the more trading volume and the more use there is of their digital asset, its value increases, and the users enjoy earning money while playing the game itself.

A few examples:
1. At the end of 2021, the coins of the game Axie Infinity reached a market value of 9 billion dollars (that is, the company that owns the game, in addition to all its assets, owned an asset worth 9 billion dollars.)
2. In the last year, the three biggest games in this model brought in about 1.2 billion dollars from NFTS/currencies (not far from Fortnite which brought in 1.5 billion dollars.

So why is it so revolutionary?
Up until now, gamers played for fun only, today gamers can play, enjoy and while playing make money, the potential of this thing in developing countries is nothing less than crazy.

We will give you an example:
the average salary in Vietnam is $150 a month, and players who play about 12-14 hours a day and understand the concept can make $1000+ a month. Almost 7 times the average salary in Vietnam, parents will start sending their children to play computer games to bring home money, because it is more profitable than working in a factory.

There are a few problems with that model, but the main problem is that a lot of non-gamers are getting into the game only for the money. Because the goal here is to make money they sell their in-game assets without considering other factors like rarity, levels, etc which creates inflation in the value of the currency and nft. Therefore, the game's and the model's value decreases for the other players.

In conclusion, there is room for improvement but the gaming industry combined with blockchain and crypto is expected to provide us with many opportunities that are worth following.🧐😎

Two days ago, the opening event of the club took place, first of all, it is a great privilege to be a bridge for students to the world of blockchain and crypto. It's exciting to see the great curiosity and interest they have in the subject💡


At the first meeting, we had the honor of hearing the lecture of Ben Samocha, who, beyond being an entrepreneur in the field, is first of all an amazing person.
In the lecture, Ben spoke and taught us about -
· History of money
· What is blockchain?
· What are Bitcoin and Ethereum, and what is their role in the coming economic change.
The lecture was amazing and taught us the basics before diving deeper.


Later we will hear lectures on DAOS, NFT, DEFI, and other topics that will give students in-depth knowledge of the field.

In the last few days, there were several incidents that had a sharp impact on the market. So this post is going to explain how it all happened.

FTX exchange- the second largest exchange by trading volume started to run into liquidity problems, what does this mean?
People are trying to get the money out of their holdings in a panic, and FTX has no money to pay their worth. In fact, most of FTX's collateral (money in case of emergency) was in FTT currency, the official currency of FTX and Because of all the panic and rumors that FTX doesn't have enough collateral, the FTT coin dropped in price, which caused its collateral value to be reduced even more!
As the situation unfolded and got worse, Binance CEO - CZ came into the picture and said he was researching to buy FTX (this morning he announced that he no longer wants to buy FTX after a finding he made)
And that's why the market dropped significantly - FTX started to liquidate positions (sell crypto with no other choice).
as they sell, positions in the market started to liquidate, which caused even further selling and drops.
Following this case, many people lost assets and a lot of money, which shows us that even though the market is developing and gaining momentum, it is important to know how to calculate risks. Beyond that, cases like this often signal the bottom and the beginning of a better period, so there is reason to remain optimistic.

We also had the honor to listen to ilan shterk, CEO of horizon by altshuler shacham.
Ilan gave us an inside look on how institutional investors and companies see the field and his future.

The following graph shows internet adoption vs. crypto adoption.

The internet and crypto have a lot in common, they are both advanced technologies that changed and will keep on changing the way we live.

At the beginning of the internet, probably most of us were too young to remember, but it was no less difficult than that of crypto, the vast majority of predictions at that time about the future of the Internet were often pessimistic and dismissive, but were ultimately wrong.
So similar to the internet, people who believed in crypto, in the beginning, were few and were called crazy, but slowly we see the trend changing.

More and more crypto companies are being established and beyond that, leading companies such as:
