Gordon Academic College of Education was proud to participate in the 13th International Week of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, held in Chania, Greece, from 25 to 29 May 2026, coordinated by Prof. Konstantinos Petridis.
Prof. Rhonda Sofer, Director of International Projects, and Dr. Stan Sofer, Head of Academic Quality Assurance, represented the college throughout the week, contributing to a rich program of lectures, workshops, and panel discussions alongside academics and internationalization professionals from across Europe and beyond.
The week also marked the final consortium meetings of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education project IMPACT. Prof. Rhonda Sofer presented strategies for fostering sustainable internationalization in higher education institutions, while Dr. Stan Sofer shared evidence-based findings from COIL courses developed within the project and participated as a panelist in discussions on the impact of Virtual Exchange on institutional development. In his capacity as Quality Assurance lead, Dr. Sofer also conducted student interviews and observed two flagship project activities: the International Student Debates and the Student AI Conference on Learning and Innovation.
The event provided a valuable platform for reflection on three years of collaborative work, as well as for establishing new professional connections and exploring future partnership opportunities. Discussions addressed Erasmus+ mobility, joint research, and the potential expansion of the IMPACT network to institutions in Sub-Saharan Africa.

We are proud to share that Dr. Gabriel Cohen represented Gordon Academic College of Education at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen- Nürnberg through an Teaching Mobility.

During his visit, Dr. Cohen delivered seminars, lectures, and a PhD colloquium focused on his innovative framework, the “Behavioural Prism,” exploring the relationship between human behaviour, diversity, resilience, and education in a rapidly changing world.

The academic exchange created meaningful dialogue with German professors, researchers, and students around interdisciplinary thinking, human consciousness, cultural identity, and the future of education beyond traditional boundaries. Inspired by discussions ranging from emotional resilience to space exploration and collective human advancement, the seminars encouraged students to rethink learning, autonomy, and the role of human connection in shaping future societies.

Reflecting on the experience, Dr. Cohen described the mobility as an opportunity not only to teach, but also to expand and challenge his own pedagogical perspectives through intercultural exchange and intellectual collaboration.

As part of the Staff Mobility programme, Professor Leehu Zysberg from Gordon Academic College of Education spent an academic week at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), Poland. During his visit, Prof. Zysberg delivered a series of workshops and courses developed for students of the Pedagogical Institute as well as doctoral students at the university.

The visit also included professional meetings with faculty members from KUL, strengthening the long-standing academic relationship between the two institutions. Gordon College and KUL have maintained strong academic ties and fruitful collaboration for more than a decade, and we are proud to continue developing this meaningful partnership.

International staff mobility plays an important role in fostering academic exchange, sharing knowledge and innovative practices, building intercultural understanding, and creating opportunities for future collaboration between higher education institutions across Europe.

As part of the mobility programme, Ms. Karin Bar-On from Gordon Academic College of Education visited the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Romania.

During the visit, Ms. Bar-On delivered lectures and held academic meetings with faculty members and students on topics including empathic teaching, ADHD and parent–school communication, and innovative learning environments.

The mobility created meaningful professional dialogue and opened possibilities for future academic collaboration between the institutions.

We are pleased to invite you to one of the concluding events of the ERASMUS+ Virtual Exchange project IMPACT, an international initiative that brought together institutions from Israel and Morocco to promote intercultural dialogue, collaboration, and shared learning.

Throughout the project, faculty members from the partner institutions participated in COIL courses, online seminars, and joint activities, while students and participants in professional development programs benefited from these innovative international learning experiences.

This final event will present the impact of the project across the partner institutions, highlight key lessons learned, and explore opportunities for future collaboration.
