You had a normal childhood, but you experience:
1. Hypervigilance and constant anxiety: You can never relax fully. You must always know where the emergency exit is; you carry all your medications “just in case”; your friends know you go to a party equipped for all types of danger.
2. Difficulty trusting others: You always have a plan B, in case someone close betrays or abandons you. You have difficulty believing they will not – and trusting them fully.
3. Chronic shame: You carry a deep sense of inadequacy or feel that your worth is questionable. You feel that you don’t deserve good things the way other people do, just by virtue of being human.
4. Fear and insecurity around money and possessions. You hold onto material things for longer than it’s wise, and shake from stress when checking your bank account or checking if your passport is where you left it. Bills might give you a panic attack even if your account is full. The need to save food and money “just in case” is always there.
5. Emotional silence or suppression: When you are sad or afraid, you keep it to yourself, because feelings are a vulnerability. Other people may use those against you. Often, you hide your feelings even from yourself. Speaking up about your needs is a quest.
6. Substance use or unhealthy coping: You or family members rely on alcohol, drugs, work, or isolation to numb painful feelings and manage stress, and it’s been this way for generations.
7. You have strange phobias: You are afraid of deep water, strangulation, closed spaces, particular foods, heat or cold, conventional medicine, or courts, for no reasons you can remember.
It probably means you have come to heal your generations… Does the idea resonate with you? Leave “yes” in the comments.
