Meet Lilibeth 👋🌎 One of our past Premier TEFL interns!

After dreaming about seeing the world for years, Lilibeth decided to make it happen. In 2022, she used the money she had left to get TEFL certified and book a one-way flight to Thailand for a six-month teaching internship with Premier TEFL.

She taught in Chum Phae, immersed herself in Thai culture, saved money from her teaching salary to travel, and later began teaching English online. Since then, her TEFL journey has helped her solo travel to 9 countries and counting. 🌍

Her story is a reminder that you don’t need to have everything perfectly figured out before you start.

JET is officially open, and if teaching abroad in 2027 is on your radar, there are a few dates worth having in your calendar.

🇯🇵 JET: Applications are open, with UK applications closing 5 November and US & Canadian deadlines on 13 November.
🇺🇸 Fulbright ETA: Deadline is 6 October at 5pm Eastern.
🇫🇷 TAPIF: Applications open 15 October.

One of the biggest regrets people have about their 20s isn’t that they travelled too much, took a year out, or tried something completely different.

It’s wishing they had been braver.

Braver about leaving the job that wasn’t making them happy.
Braver about moving somewhere new.
Braver about saying yes to experiences instead of always choosing what felt safe.
Braver about spending a little less time worrying about what they should be doing and a little more time figuring out what they actually want to do.

Because the career ladder will still be there.

But your 20s won’t.

So get the TEFL certificate. Teach abroad. Move somewhere you’ve never lived. Watch the sunset on a beach after work.

Imagine staying long enough to find your local coffee spot, settle into a new routine, spend your weekends exploring and experience what it’s actually like to live somewhere completely different.

That’s one of the best parts of teaching English abroad, a destination can become so much more than somewhere you once went on holiday.

Teach English. Stay a while. Experience more. 💗

Before you get swept up in the excitement of moving abroad, make sure you’re paying attention to the things that matter before you sign.

A great-looking job offer can quickly become a nightmare if the details aren’t clear, the promises aren’t in writing, or something just doesn’t feel right.

✨ Do your research.
📄 Read the contract.
❓ Ask questions.
🚩 And don’t ignore your gut.

Your dream of teaching abroad should be exciting — not something you have to regret later :)
