We are delighted to have our Sciath na scol training back for the new school year. Our listed squad members will begin training in the GAA after school on Monday's from 3pm - 4pm. Our games will be beginning the week of 14th September. The season always begins with Gaelic Football. Best of luck to all involved.

💙 CORK – YOUGHAL DYSLEXIA Ireland WORKSHOP 💙

Our weekly after-school workshops, for pupils in 2nd-6th class, provide a supportive, engaging and encouraging environment where children can build confidence, develop literacy skills and discover strategies that work for them.

The workshops are designed to help children feel more confident in their learning while connecting with other young people who understand their experiences. 💙

Coastguard Station Visits
All classes enjoyed a visit to our local Coastguard Station this week and learned about staying safe in the water. Many thanks to the crew members that facilitated our visits-Ivan O’Flynn,Donna Savage,Kathy Whyte, Peter Leamy, Billy Farrell, Christine Lee and Annesely Scariff.

Bunscoil Mhuire Graduation Ceremony 2026
Congratulations to all the sixth class pupils on the occasion of their graduation from Bunscoil Mhuire.
Thanks to Fr.O’Donoghue who celebrated the mass and Mr. White, Harry White, Charlie Cliffe,Ms. Edmonds, Ms.Whyte and the Bunscoil Mhuire Choir who provided the lovely music and singing on the evening.
Our manager John O’Connor and school principal Eoghan O’Neill shared their good wishes for the pupils.
Special congratulations to Lacey Jones, the winner of the 2026 Dean Thornhill Memorial Award.
Awards were also presented for History Projects completed by the students: 1st prize for Cromwell’s Arch went to Ben Moylan, Aaron Stevens and Mollie Jo Foley, 2nd prize for Myrtle Grove went to Remy Keane,Grace Healy and Meg Llewellyn and 3rd prize for the Clock Gate went to Roisín Hogan and Ruth Moloney.
Huge thanks to the sixth class teachers-Ms.Hickey, Ms Uniacke, Ms Sanders and Ms. Landers together with SNAs Melanie Delacour, Ann McGrath and Maxine Brophy for all their work with the pupils throughout the year.
Wishing our sixth class pupils every success and happiness in their future endeavours!

On Monday, Mrs. Murphy's Síolta Beaga A class went exploring the seashore to discover what plant life, sea creatures and shells can be found in Youghal Harbour. We brought samples of seaweed and shells back to school and found their names using websites and charts. We also researched the different types of jellyfish that we saw on the sand. We saw a huge spider crab on the sand and a beautiful heron standing in the sea. We saw periwinkles, clams, razor clams, cockles & limpet shells. We found oyster shells and a mermaid's purse. And we identified at least 15 different types of seaweed. The children had a fantastic morning exploring!
