💙 CORK – YOUGHAL DYSLEXIA Ireland WORKSHOP 💙

Our weekly after-school workshops, for pupils in 2nd-6th class, provide a supportive, engaging and encouraging environment where children can build confidence, develop literacy skills and discover strategies that work for them.

The workshops are designed to help children feel more confident in their learning while connecting with other young people who understand their experiences. 💙

Please share with parents, schools, teachers and anyone who may know a child who could benefit. Spaces are limited, so get in touch for more information or to register.

Over the past few months CRY104fm has had the pleasure of travelling to 10 local schools recording an exciting, informative and fun project all about sustainability and its importance to us all. The project supported by EirGrid under the Celtic Interconnector Fund and SECAD Partnership CLG - SECAD, enabled pupils in classes ranging from 3rd to 6th class, to research, produce and record their very own 1 hour show all about their school and the incredible things that schools do to help make our planet more sustainable. Full of fun, information and great tips, we are delighted to announce that these programmes will be broadcast on Wednesdays and Thursdays Drivetime from 4pm for 5 weeks beginning Wednesday 9th September.
The broadcast times are as follows:

Bunscoil Mhuire, Youghal, – Thursday 10th September
Ballintotas NS – Wednesday 16th September
Midleton CBS Primary – Thursday 17th September
Clonpriest National School – Wednesday 23rd September
South Abbey National School, Youghal – Thursday 24th September
St Ferghals, Killeagh – Wednesday 30th September
Scoil Iosaif, Castlemartyr – Thursday 1st October
St John the Baptist, Midleton – Wednesday 7th October
Gaelscoil Choráin Eochaill, Youghal – Thursday 8th October.

A big thank you to the Parent Association who recently purchased a fantastic range of sports equipment for the pupils in the school for use during active week and beyond. Equipment includes basketballs and hoops, table tennis sets and a badminton net, rackets and shuttlecocks. Funding for this equipment came from very kind and generous donations.

We had another brilliant Active Schools Week last week. Thank you to all the people who volunteered their time to share their love of activity with our children.
Thank you to Lucy Murphy School of Dance, Stuart Hickey(Karate), Sammy Revins(Youghal RFC), Janette and Paul from Youghal AC, Maura Barry and Mary Brooker who did an obstacle course and Peter Coady who did military activities.
Thank you to the Parents Association who provided funding for the week. It was jam packed with exciting events like Franks Fit Camp, Michael Russell from Youghal Tennis Club, a fun inflatable and some delicious ice-cream! We are very grateful for everyone`s support.

Please drop off any clean, good-quality Clonpriest NS uniforms between now and Wednesday 17th June. Emma or Leanne Smyth will be available at school drop-off and collection times to accept donations.

Huge congratulations to all of our wonderful athletes who participated at yesterday’s Cork City Sports event at MTU, many of whom came home with silverware. We are extremely proud of all our pupils who participated at this event and hope you enjoyed this special day.
