Med iLearning is an online continuing professional development site for Irish doctors and healthcare professionals. MediLearning is the ideal vehicle for completing your personal, self-directed CPD requirements - and it is free. Med iLearning is an affiliate of the Medical Independent newspaper which is published by GreenCross Publishing. Once registered with Med iLearning, medical professionals c

an earn CPD credits by completing educational modules. On completion of each module, CPD hours, module details, and any learning notes will automatically be logged in the user's personal online CPD log. Med iLearning content is provided for the most part by Irish doctors. Each module lists the author's name and credentials. Each Med iLearning module is designed to be completed within the time designated on the Module Introduction page. This is an estimate of the maximum time required to complete the specific module and is determined by the format and content of the module. Users should claim only those credits that reflect the time actually spent on the activity. The privacy of our users is important to us and we are committed to protecting it. We will not share a user's personal information with third parties without prior consent. Users will not receive emails from third parties unless they have agreed to do so.

This module discusses codeine as an opioid analgesic, the pharmacist’s role in codeine supply, and patient counselling, as well as non-pharmacological options.
