Had a busy week last week with talks and meetings so didn't get around to Friday's blog. Hopefully will be able to write the blog on Inishowen in 1601 for this Friday.

Next week will be part two of this week's blog - the distribution of power in Inishowen in 1601 ~ see how the families mentioned this week fared almost two centuries later before the Plantation of Ulster in 1610 changed settlement patterns in forever.

This week's blog should be up in a few minutes - the history of two very interesting Inishowen families, Ó Maolfhábhail ~ chieftains of Cairraig - Brachaidhe (north-west Inishown), and Ó Duibhdhíorma, chieftains of the Bredagh Glen (north-east Ihishowen).

This week I think I will continue my look at prominent (west) Tyrone families, who are recorded in the annals in medieval times but then disappear from the record ~ in particular this week some families from the Inishowen peninsula, the original home of the people of Tyrone.

Hello Everyone, after a short break a new blog is now up on my website. This week ~ a word to the wise about some of the late medieval Irish genealogys ~ genealogists of that time were not above forging family trees to please powerful and wealthy patrons!

Unfortunately I havn't been able to find enough info on the McVeagh family to write a blog this weekend ~ other than to say it is now quite a numerous surname in County Armagh and the general east Ulster area.
My important behind the scenes work on my website is now completed so I will be able to devote my time to a new blog series for the period up to Chistmas.
