Every child develops at their own pace, but if something about your child’s development is on your mind, you don’t have to simply “wait and see.”

Early support can help children build skills in communication, play, interaction, learning and everyday activities. It can also give families practical strategies and a better understanding of their child’s individual needs. 💛

At Pathways Therapy & Consultancy, we work with children and families to explore developmental concerns, identify strengths and provide practical, individualised support.

You don’t need to have a diagnosis or all the answers before reaching out. If you have a concern, we’re here to listen and help you decide what the next step might be.

🌈 MORE THAN WORDS®️ – ONLINE PARENT PROGRAMME

Would you like practical strategies to help your young child communicate, connect and interact more successfully in everyday life?

We are delighted to offer the Hanen More Than Words®️ Programme, delivered online by a Hanen Certified Speech and Language Therapist.

👧 Who is it for?

This programme is designed for parents and caregivers of children under 6 years who are:

• Non-speaking, or
• Beginning to communicate using a few words, and
• May be autistic or have social communication difficulties.

The programme is particularly suited to children at Hanen’s Explorer and Requester stages of communication.

💬 What will we cover?

Across the programme, parents will learn practical Hanen strategies that can be used naturally during play, mealtimes, getting dressed, bath time, books and other everyday routines.

We’ll explore how to:

✨ Understand your child’s current communication and interaction style
✨ Follow your child’s lead and create enjoyable opportunities for interaction
✨ Help your child communicate their wants, needs and interests
✨ Support the development of gestures, sounds, words and/or AAC
✨ Build shared attention, turn-taking and social connection
✨ Make everyday routines powerful opportunities for communication and language learning
✨ Adapt strategies specifically to your own child and family

🖥️ Delivered live online
🕢 7.30–9.00pm

📅 September: 15th & 22nd
📅 October: 6th, 13th & 20th
📅 November: 3rd & 10th

The programme is designed to give parents practical strategies they can start using straight away, while helping them feel more confident supporting their child’s individual communication journey.
