Today we celebrate our "Mini" Music Festival in playschool... ❤️
It is now part of Arklows history...in the words of Yvonne Kenny...
The Arklow Music Festival is the beating cultural heart of our community and Arklow just wouldn't be the place it is today without it.
But perhaps its greatest gift has been to the ordinary children of Arklow.
To the shy child who found their voice in a school choir.
To the teenager who discovered the thrill of applause after a monologue.
To the young pianist who learned that practice, patience and courage bring beautiful rewards.
The festival has given them confidence that stretches far beyond the stage. It has shown them that their voice matters, that effort is worthwhile, and that creativity is something to be celebrated. For many families, it has created cherished memories — evenings of nervous excitement, proud smiles, and shared celebration. It has fostered friendships, built community spirit, and strengthened the bonds between schools, teachers and neighbours.
The Arklow Music Festival is not just an event. It is a legacy. It is confidence built, talent discovered, friendships formed, and dreams awakened. It belongs to us all — and because of it, the love of the arts continues to flourish in Arklow and beyond.
