We are delighted to welcome our new children and families, and look forward to seeing our returning children back through the doors tomorrow. ❤️

📻🎙️ Lights, microphones, action – our Preschoolers became radio stars for the day! 🎙️📻

We were delighted recently to welcome Jack and Aines Mam, Carmel into our Preschool.

Carmel works with KCLR Radio and kindly came in to share her knowledge about radio broadcasting and how a radio station works.

The children were fascinated to learn all about microphones, presenting and what happens behind the scenes at a radio station. They were especially excited to have the opportunity to speak into the microphones and even create their own little radio advertisement!

Here is our very own advertisement – have a listen! 📻🎙️ We are so proud of our little broadcasters.

A huge thank you to Carmel and everyone at KCLR Radio for taking the time to visit us and provide such a fun, engaging, and educational experience for the children. It was a wonderful opportunity and one the children thoroughly enjoyed. 😊

🌍🐞 **Bug Hotel Builders!** 🐞🌍

Our Red Star team group created this wonderful bug hotel as part of our Earth Day learning. The children had great fun using recycled and natural materials, leading this project over the course of the week and taking ownership every step of the way.

They even took it upon themselves to gather materials from home, supporting our ongoing partnership with parents and helping to link learning between Preschool and home life.

Together, they designed, built, and decorated it with flowers 🌼 and chose a special spot in our garden for bugs and mini-beasts to call home.

We are excited to see what creatures will come to Preschool and call it their new home 🐜🐝

A lovely way to explore teamwork, creativity, and caring for our environment 💚

🌿🐦 The children have truly taken us on a wonderful learning journey all about garden birds 🐦🌿

What started as a simple interest quickly grew into a fun and meaningful adventure, filled with bird feeders, birdwatching, and caring for our special friend Benny the Robin. We love when learning happens naturally, it makes experiences more hands-on, engaging, and meaningful for the children.

The children proudly made & took home their own bird feeders, encouraging them to explore which birds visit their homes and to share these experiences with their families, strengthening our partnership with parents.

The excitement soared when we were surprised by a visit from Jeffrey the parrot 🦜 a truly memorable moment. A big thank you to Chloe’s mum, Cherish for sharing this special experience with us.

We were delighted to welcome Tadhg’s Grandad Pat, who presented the preschool with a beautiful handcrafted robin mounted on ancient bog oak, created by Vincent Ennis of Naas Men’s Shed. This thoughtful gift will be treasured by us all 💛 Naas Community Men's Shed

Who knows… we may have a few budding ornithologists in our midst! 🐦✨

What a quick and busy January we have had in Preschool! ❄️

We have been learning alot about keeping our bodies fit and healthy.

Our favourite moment was making Friendship Soup together — it tasted extra yummy on these wet & miserable days🥣

We were also very lucky to have Tadhg's Mam Audrey visit to bake soda bread with the children. What a treat it was to enjoy homemade soup and freshly baked bread together! 🍞💛

A big thank you to Audrey for sharing her time and skills with us ❤️

We really value & promote partnership with parents, acknowledging that parental involvement and the sharing of skills supports and enriches the children’s learning experiences.”🤝✨

It’s been a wonderful and busy start to our new school year, and we’re so proud of how beautifully all our children have settled in!

Recently, a truly meaningful learning journey emerged when Pearl brought in a very special treasure from her family’s farm — an ear of corn! 🌽 This simple gift sparked so much curiosity and excitement among the children. Together, we explored autumn treasures, looked closely at the corn, and discovered where it comes from and how it grows.

We were even lucky enough to have Pearl’s Dad, Chris visit and share his knowledge about how corn grows from a tiny seed into a tall, strong plant. The children were fascinated and loved being part of such a hands-on learning experience.

Be sure to take a look at our photos — they tell the story of curiosity, discovery, and the magic of learning outdoors! 🍂✨

Expanding our children’s curiosity and opening their eyes to new ways of exploring is always a key focus for us here in CBN.

With this in mind we wanted to challenge the boys and girls to think about how they might use everyday household items in new ways. From collecting recyclable materials we found that they are a wonderful resource for open ended play.

It was a great way of highlighting ways to look after our environment and using these items in our areas of interest to make many different creative and imaginative pieces of art. We extended on this emerging interests by inviting the Bord na Mona recycling lorry to the preschool, which the children found super cool ♻️

The children’s new motto just like Rocky from Paw Patrol is “ Don’t loose it, reuse it” ♻️
