1️⃣ To splash out (on something)
This means to treat yourself and spend a lot of money on something special — either for yourself or someone else.
Example: “I worked really hard last month, so I splashed out on a new handbag. It cost me around €500!”
2️⃣ To cut back (on something)
This means to reduce the amount of money you spend.

This means to spend a large amount of money on something you didn’t really want to spend money on.
