The Mosaics community education class produced some beautiful and inspired work at The Recovery Village. Leona proudly demonstrates a magnificent piece with her amazing tutor, Mark. Her creation will be a gift for a close family member. Each learner gets to express their creativity in an individual way. They all agree that doing mosaics is very mindful and absorbing. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the process. ☺️

The learners from Rathdrum Men's Shed have recently successfully completed their digital skills courses. During this course they have learnt so much, including how to access the digital world and also get the most from their devices, either phones or laptops. Huge thanks to our KWETB tutor, Denise. During the course we also had visits to both Rathdrum and Wicklow libraries. We were given a tour of the facilities by the librarian Niamh, who showed them the vast quantity of facilities and services available to members of the public. They were all very impressed with how much libraries have changed over the years. They were very impressed by the Archivist, Catherine, and also with Gerlanda who introduced them to the enormous amount of information that they could access on genealogy. A big thanks to all at Wicklow and Rathdrum Libraries.

The learners in Carnew FETC have just completed their sustainable fashion class. They have remodelled various items, made new garments from scratch or have been creating patchwork pieces. Their skills and confidence have greatly increased under the guidance of our Community Education tutor,Lucy.

The learners in South Bray FRC produced some fantastic pieces by the end of their Mosaics and Craft course. Thanks to our KWETB Community Education tutor, Mark Meakin, for inspiring and guiding the learners. Well done to all.

Our horticulture learners learned a wide variety of skills during their Community Education course. They did some landscaping and also lots of work growing a lot of different fruit and veg in the poly tunnel with the guidance of our excellent tutor, Colm. . These fruit and veg are used in their kitchen.

The Sustainable DIY class was a great success in South Bray FRC. The learners learnt a variety of skills relating to general household maintenance. In the final class, they were putting together some flat-pack furniture. Our tutor, Mark Meakin, is a font of knowledge.

The Baltinglass Women’s group were hard at work completing their jewellery making course under the guidance of the wonderful Rosella. They have made earrings, key rings, bracelets and much more. It was a hive of creativity and lots of chat.
