✨ Inspiring Visit from Past Pupil, Sophie Kinsella Dunne! ✨

We were delighted to welcome past student Sophie Kinsella Dunne back to our Art Room this week.

Sophie has continued to excel in the creative world since leaving our school. After completing a Level 5 course at Gorey School of Art, she is now studying Textiles, Art & Artefacts (Applied Materials) at N.C.A.D. — a fantastic achievement and an exciting step towards a career in the arts.

During her visit, Sophie spoke with our 5th and 6th year Art students about her journey into art college. She shared valuable insights, realistic advice, and plenty of encouragement for those considering a future in the creative industries. Her passion and dedication were evident, and it was inspiring to hear how her creative journey continues to evolve.

We are incredibly proud of Sophie and delighted to see her thriving in her studies. She is a wonderful role model for our current students, showing what can be achieved with talent, hard work, and belief in your creative path.

Thank you, Sophie, for taking the time to return and inspire the next generation of young artists.

🧠 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝘁𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 — 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲

Child psychotherapist Dr Colman Noctor makes the case for school-based mental fitness: students tend to focus better, manage stress, and build resilience — and it lasts longest when parents echo the skills at home.

Key takeaways for parents

🎒 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵: every child can access support in class.

🕰️ 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: small worries can be spotted sooner.

🔁 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁: daily habits beat one-off talks.

🏠 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗲𝘆: name feelings, model calm, and protect screen-free downtime.
