This year's TY students had a ball at their induction day on Tuesday🥳 They took part in a number of ice breaking activities which added greatly to the bonding experience (Some got much wetter than they anticipated😅🌊)

What a great year these students have in front of them. From the musical, to tours, workshops, speakers and extra curricular events. Students, make sure to make the most of it!🎶🎭🚌📚🗣⚽

Past FCJ teacher, Rory Kinsella, dropped into school the other day with a surprise cheque in aid of our sensory garden!💲🪻🌹🌺🌼 This was kindly given by Bunclody Kilmyshall Drama Group🎭👏

Ms Ciara Kenny was delighted to accept the money on our behalf. Ms Kenny has been instrumental in fundraising for this very important project here in FCJ, particularly on the back of our newly opened special classroom💰⚒🧱🪚🏫 If you would like to contribute, you can email [email protected] - it really would make a huge difference!☺️

Here are a few students from our outgoing 6th Year cohort that received a mammoth 5 or more H1s!💯📝🎉 A huge well done to them! They are; Izabella Swiatek, Liam Cooney, John Murphy, Jamie Cunniffe and Aaron Cunniffe (Who are twins by the way!) Missing from this picture is Evan Sweeney. Izabella has been accepted into Radiography in UCD, Jamie into Primary Teaching in DCU, while Liam, John and Aaron will have each other for company as the trio are destined for Engineering in UCD👨‍🎓📚🩻👨‍🏫🛠

As we always say here in FCJ, at the end of the day, you won’t be remembered for the score on a piece of paper, it’s the type of person that you are that counts🙋 Everybody has a different goal, no matter what it is, the important thing is that you set that target and then give it your all to get there💪 It’s echoed around the corridors - Do your best, sure that’s all that you can do!😁

Another statistic that we are very proud of here is that almost half of our students received 400 points or more, while almost 25% obtained a massive 500 points or more, with 2 students securing the maximum points of 625!🚸🏫✅🤩

Today is the FIRST of September which is incidentally the FIRST day for our new FIRST years!👨‍🎓👋 Wishing the newest Faithful Companions (All 180 of them!!) the best of luck on their second level journey!📚📝🚌🚸🏫🎒 As the out going 6th Years will attest to, the time will fly!⏰🌟

The teachers were back in school today preparing for the busy year ahead👨‍🏫📝📚 One man that did well to be here was Mr D Farrell, considering over the weekend he completed an ultra marathon of 127kms!🏃⛰🏁 A huge well done to Dean on this unbelievable achievement👏 He’s on a quick recovery now, as on the 25th of October he will take part in the Dublin City Marathon in aid of Make-A-Wish Ireland🌟 The link to his fundraiser is attached if you’d like to contribute to his cause!⬇

Two great FCJ men (And History Buffs!) - Past student, Ben Bayley and past FCJ teacher, Mr John O'Neill🎓📜⏳

We were delighted to see Ben giving a rousing talk on the history of the surrounding area at the weekend, with Mr O'Neill in the audience for the event🗣🎤 John was Ben's history teacher during his time here in FCJ. Anybody that was ever lucky enough to sit in Mr O'Neill's class knows how passionate he was about history, something that he has passed on to Ben in spades!👏 Fair play, Ben, you'd give Mr O'Neill a run for his money now!😁

Well she kept that quiet!😅 Ms Howlan achieved something that so many of us in FCJ have dreamed of doing, playing in Croke Park on All Ireland final day!⚾️🏆🤩 Along with her club, Katherine played in front of the record breaking camogie final crowd in our national stadium last weekend🏟👏 The senior camogie team here in school better watch out, we might stick her in corner forward this coming year!💪😁

Today marks the final day of the Leaving Certificate 2026. In fact, in the last hour or so, the last students left the exam hall📝📚🎓

At the 6th Year Graduation this year we sang Abba's famous hit 'Slipping Through My Fingers' 🎶 This tells of a parent's nostalgia over how quickly their children grow up👶

'Schoolbag in hand, she leaves home in the early morning, waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile...Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture, and save it from the funny tricks of time...'⌛📸 Indeed how time has flown. From everybody here in FCJ, we want to wish each of you the very best of luck in the future!👋😁

With the Leaving Cert Chemistry exam taking place tomorrow, here's Ms Doyle's 6th Years completing their final experiment before they finished up👩‍🔬🔬 The task was to analyse the amount of chlorine in swimming pool water💧⚗🤔 A handy experiment that they can conduct again on their holidays. It's fair to say, the swimming pool in Albufeira won't ever have seen such studious people before!🧪🌊🏊
