Hi all, in conjunction with St. Mary's NS we are hosting an open evening to all perspective parents/guardians on Wednesday 12th June, from 7pm-8pm. All are welcome to come and view both fantastic facilities on your doorstep.

Hi all, there is a definite summer feeling happening at Explore and Discover Childcare.... here is our summer activities for the month of July
• All Pre-school and school-age children are welcome to attend the camp.
• All fees must be paid by Thursday of each week your child attends. Full cost - €5 per hour (NCS - €5 per hr minus hourly subsidy)
• Packed lunch with water or milk must be supplied daily (except on Camping Day). Sun Cream, Sun hat and runners must be worn daily.

SUMMER PROVISION 2022 - 10am-2pm
Childcare available from 9am-3pm ( alternative hours available on request, subject to numbers)
Priority will be given to children already attending the service.
Packed lunch must be supplied daily (except on camping day). Sun Cream, Sun hat and runners must be worn daily. Parents please tick your chosen days on this sheet also and keep for future reference.
Week 1; 4th- 8th July
Monday – Mini Sports Day - runners and sun hat are advised for this event
Tuesday – Art and Craft - Making jewellery
Wednesday– Rosslare Strand – Scavenger hunt and Picnic (Please provide a booster seat, sun hat, togs and towel and packed lunch)
Thursday – Arts and Crafts with Shells and Stones
Friday- Water Fun Day (please provide a towel and a change of clothes)
Week 2; 11th -15th July
Monday – Talent show
Tuesday – Science experiments
Wednesday – Summer Camping Day (lunch provided)
Thursday – Treasure Hunt in Yola and Picnic
Friday– Cookery day- Milkshakes and pancakes
Week 3; 18th – 22nd July
Monday - Feet painting (please supply a hand towel)
Tuesday - Mini Sports Day – runners sun hat and sun cream
Wednesday –Cookery day
Thursday - Obstacle Challenge
Friday – Rosslare Strand – Scavenger hunt and Picnic (Please provide a booster seat, sun hat, togs and towel and packed lunch)

Monday – Lego Day
Tuesday – Science experiments
Wednesday – Making bird feeders
Thursday – Nature Walk to Yola

We're going on a frog hunt.....

Last week a child brought in some jumping frogs for all his friends, this started the conversation about frogs and tadpoles.. We are so lucky to have Yola Farm in walking distance of our setting... so on Friday we went on the hunt for frogs and we hit the jackpot! We found frogspawn, tadpoles, froglets and tiny frogs. The children were able to observe and experience the lifecycle of the frog in their natural habitat. What a fantastic experience they had and we got a chance to practice our road safety skills too.

Today we noticed some birds have built a nest in the eaves of the building. the children thought they might be hungry, so we got the seed feeder and filled it up with tasty seeds and placed it in the tree.

This week the children are busy planting sunflower seeds, tomato, strawberry and lettuce plants. they will look after these plants by watering them daily.
