Exciting News - School of the Future
The Board of Management of the SHS is delighted to announce that our new school building project is moving into the next phase of development.

We recently received notification from the Department of Education that the project is progressing to Stage 2A, which means we are now entering the detailed design and planning phase. It is notoriously difficult to progress beyond Stage 1, so this is a very positive indication of the commitment to and support for our new school building project.

We now look forward to developing the final plans for our school and seeing our vision for the future take shape. We are also excited to see which of the many suggestions put forward by our students and staff are incorporated into the final design.

Attached to this post is a graphic provided by our design team, illustrating the type of school building they have envisaged for us.

LCA Students Planning Ahead
A busy day for our LCA students today as they began collecting the harvest for their Christmas Enterprise Project. The produce gathered will be transformed into delicious homemade preserves over the coming weeks. Well done to all involved!

First Day in Green!
Yesterday we we welcomed back our new Transition Year students. They were all very excited to be modelling the senior uniform for the first time! We hope that they all throw themselves into the TY experience; say yes to all the opportunities they might be offered and develop a plethora of new interests and skills. Here’s to a great year for you all, and to your co-ordinator Ms Donnelly and year head Mr Regan.

🎊50 Year Reunion 🎊
Last Saturday we were delighted to host a group of 47 past pupils who were celebrating their 50 year reunion. Ms. Kelly brought them on a tour of the campus and she was treated to lots of stories about Latin, Art and Domestic Science classes. Thanks to Sr. Kathleen for coming along too.✨✨✨

Welcome First Years! 🫶
Today was a very special day in the history of the SHS. As ever, it was such a privilege to welcome our new first years. But this year was of course a little different, as we were welcoming girls and also, for the first time, boys. We hope that you all really enjoyed your first day and we look forward to getting to know you all over the next 6 years. 📚Books, books, books! 📚
We want to say a huge thank you to Mr O Riain and Ms. Hamilton for the Trojan work they did in organising and coordinating the book scheme this year. All the book boxes are filled and are awaiting collection by our incoming students. We also want to thank Louise from Berry Print who so kindly sponsored the boxes. Here’s to a wonderful year for all.🤞💪🎉

We are so proud of our class of 2026 and their superb results yesterday. Results are of course deeply personal and true achievement is individual to each one of our leaving cert and LCA students. For some it’s the relief of passing a subject that has been a struggle for the last two years and for others it meant bagging whopper points and landing that place in university or PLC. No matter what your goal was we hope that our class of 2026 have had time to reflect on their achievements - one in three secured more than 500 points - and you can now look forward to the rest of your life. 🎉🙌👏
