This Saturday night, 5th September at 9pm, we’re getting together in Westport Country Lodge for a social evening to say a very special goodbye to Fr Britus!

Position: AIM Early Years Educator

Hours: 8.45am-12.15, 5 days a week, term time

Start Date: 31st August 2026

We are seeking a caring, kind, and enthusiastic AIM Early Years Educator to join our dedicated team from 31st August 2026.
The successful candidate will support children within the Early Years setting, promoting inclusion and ensuring every child has the opportunity to participate fully in a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment.

Essential Requirements:
Minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in Childcare/Early Learning and Care
Caring, kind, and patient nature
Ability to work on your own initiative
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Commitment to supporting the individual needs of children and promoting inclusive practice

Desirable:
Previous experience working in an Early Years setting
Knowledge of inclusive practices and child development

This afternoon, the Senior Room completed their annual run to town. With perfect conditions and a fast pace, they finished on the Greenway before enjoying a well-earned ice-cream in McGreevys Toys Direct. Well done to everyone involved - a fantastic achievement! Thanks to the Henry family for once again providing refreshments, and to our road marshals, parent pacesetters, teachers and photographer for their help today. Also, thanks to Don for the extra treats!

The Lankill Girls finished second in the FAI Schools Primary 5's National Finals last Tuesday in the Aviva Stadium. They won their opening game against the eventual champions Gaelscoil Cois Feabhail 2-1. They drew their next game aganst Cloneen NS 1-1 and were unlucky not to get a result in the final group game against Kilbeg NS 1-2 after giving their all.
After finishing on 4 points with Cloneen NS they had a play-off for second place which they won 1-0.
We are so proud of their achievements and the unforgettable experience they have provided the school.
Huge gratitude to their coaches, Patrick Collins and Ms. McNeill, for giving your time and knowledge to the girls. Also thanks to the boys who kept training with the girls to keep them challenged. Our boys had a great day out at the Westport G.A.A Pat Cox Hurling Tournament today. They reached the final where they came up against a very strong Brackloon Reds. They were very competitive until the end. Congrats to Brackloon.
Well done lads. Great skills and heart on show in all games.
