🌟 Kids Bucket list! 🌟
So we are now on day 7 of isolation in our house and the kids have started to ask to go to different places. They are still young and don't understand why we cant to to the park or go see their friends.
So today we decided to make a bucket list jar. We wrote down things that we would like to do when lockdown is over. This is the ones we have so far and everytime they ask to do something we cant do we will add it to our jar.
Once lockdown is over we can pick one thing at a time to go and do as a family 👨👩👧👦
What would you have on your lockdown bucket list?
The simple things are often the best!! Here's some great ideas for a bit of fun at home... you might need some tape!!

Waterford City Fire Service
Unfortunately for some strange reason some of our Fire Engines lost their colour over night!!!
Well, we are kind of lucky that our younger followers are off school and should be following the advice and be staying indoors.
So we are asking that maybe they could help us to recolour our Fire engines..
We are open to new colour schemes! surprise us, but don't scare us!!
There is always the traditional colour scheme too..
So when you have your chosen picture coloured in, send it into us here on the page via a message and we will post them all here on the page and we will see if we can muster up a prize for the best one..
This Colouring competition is for our younger followers so no cheating.
Let’s give ye budding artists all a week or so.
Closing date is Saturday 4th April..
We will pick the best ones and put it to a public vote here in the page.

❤ Cosmic Kids Yoga on YouTube, a nice practice for children to learn and incorporate into their day. Lots of videos on there.
❤ We often use meditations in school with the children, nice and relaxing and there are many on YouTube aimed at young children.
❤Also, so many yoga videos for adults on YouTube (personally, I like 'Yoga with Adrienne') and lots of online options for meditation.

Last week, after reading the book 'How to Catch a Leprechaun', the children were given some materials to make a 'Leprechaun trap'. We were very impressed with their designs and their thinking and logic...
"so the holes are so that the squirly bits on his feet will get stuck in them.."
"Well if he goes along here and then climbs up and then he'll go inside there and he won't be able to get out..."
"I think it needs a window so then he'll know he's in a trap.."
Maybe you could make one at home ☘☘
Good morning ☀️
In an effort to stay positive and busy and connected I will be sharing ideas for home activities for the children (and parents) on here. Anything I see that looks good I will pass on to you here and/or through our school WhatsApp.
We have to do our own part at this time by adhering to social distancing rules, not easy at all, but let's try stay calm and positive, and use the time to be present with our children and family, and of course with ourselves. ❤❤
And please feel free to join in and share your own ideas!
For all you folks stuck at home in the coming weeks. Starting on Monday, at 6pm GMT / 2pm EST / 11am PST
I will be reading one of my books every weekday, and talking about some of the things that went into making it.
We are all at home, but none of us are alone.
Let’s be bored together.
Also, my pal, and one of the best storybook writers in a generation @macbarnett will be doing the same with his books daily, an hour later.
And the genius minds behind @kaleidoscopeire are doing a daily creative project called ‘Home Club’, also starting Monday.
I will make it available to watch later for those in other time zones.
Stay tuned for more details.
Friday night bath night/washing machine night for the preschool teddies - Thanks Olive, the cuteness!!!
Another reminder - school is closed for an important reason! We all have a social responsibility ❤
Message from consultant respiratory paediatrician at cork university hospital:
I hope you all stay safe during this difficult time . The children will get through this no problem . Paediatric hospitals are empty in Italy at present after 3 weeks of school closure as the usual viruses stopped circulating . Remember with corona children are vectors not victims . In most epidemics young children are the transmitters . Therefore for school closure to be effective it’s really important that the kids aren’t mixing with other kids while out of school . They will give it to each other silently pass it on to our loved ones. What we do now will contribute to how this develops in cork . Avoid situations that the children will interact . If the community respond to this it will shut it down more than anything we do in hospital . From my experiences in the hospital this last week I would say that corona virus is closer to all of us than we realise and the degrees of separation for all of us is getting narrower . I’m not that good at social media but if this could be shared as widely as possible with parents in cork it will help. This messsge needs to go viral to stop the virus .
As you are aware, we will be closed from tomorrow until 29th March (at the very least). Lets not panic though, we don't want children picking up the vibes and being scared.
Also, I know childcare may be tricky for many now, but please remember that grandparents or people over 60 who look after children may be vulnerable and so their health and safety should be considered ❤
A little bit of redecorating in the house area 🏠 ...The Blue Room complete (for now anyway!), Green Room still under construction 🛠

Aww, any knitters out there??
Well done everyone who has posted cannula sleeves to our Rosie Request! They are now fully stocked up, and have enough to even be sharing them around with other hospitals! Well done everyone, such an amazing response to this appeal! ❤️
If you have some already made, they can still be posted to Cathrine however, we ask that you stop knitting more, as we have lots of other requests of places in need who need our help! Check the post at the top of our page, or the album in our photos section to see all current appeals! 💜

Hi I'm a paediatric nurse working on a ward for under 1s in Cambridge. The majority of our babies are ex prems and little. We have lots of babies receiving IV antibiotics and use little knitted tubes to cover the cannulas. They are single patient use and we never have a good supply.
I have written some instructions and would be so grateful for your help.
I used 4mm needles and Dk yarn 26 stitches and 36 rows of garter stitch then simply sew the sides up. Any colour will be great thanks.

Crochet is accepted, as long as there’s no holes. They are approx 10 x 14 cms.
If you’d like to help, but maybe cannot knit yourself, we have a just giving page that you can donate to. This helps to fund to buy wool for our knitters to use, some of these knitters can not afford to buy wool so this is just as important ❤️
A little peek at our new space at Ursuline Preschool... not quite complete, but almost there!!
This will be a sensory space, for small group time and relaxation for the children. We hope that parents, grandparents, carers will make use of it too - for a cuppa and chats. Ursuline Preschool belongs to the children and their families, so we want to provide a little place where we can build our 'community'. I've had this in mind for a long time now, so looking forward to see it in action 😃 Just a few more bits to add in... so watch this space!!!
Stir a pancake, mix a pancake, pour it in a pan. Fry a pancake, flip a pancake, catch it if you can!!
