Places still available on the Irish Heart Foundation HEARTSAVER First Aid,CPR,AED course. It takes place on the Saturday the 8th of November 09:00-16:00 in Waterford City. On completion you will be issued, your basic First Aid cert valid for two years, your IHF/AHA HEARTSAVER cert and card valid for two years. Also a very good course to have weather employed or seeking employment. The course is €95 that's a savings of 5% compared to other course providers. We will also knock off €15 each if you bring a friend if you bring a friend. HEARTSAVER AED COURSE-€95

The course is €95 that's a savings of 5% compared to other course providers. We will also knock off a future 15% each if you bring a friend, that's just €80pp a whopping saving of 20%. This is a full day course recognised by the Irish Heart Foundation, in association with the American Heart Association certification course which covers all the essential aspects of CPR for adults and children.

The Heartsaver AED Course teaches you the basic techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and the relief of choking for adults, children and infants. An AED is a computerised defibrillator which analyses the heart rhythm of a person in cardiac arrest and uses voice prompts to advise you if a shock is needed. The AED is an important link in the chain of survival and this course teaches you how to use them effectively.

On completion of this course you will be issued with a cert in CPR and AED use by the Irish Heart Foundation

BASIC FIRST AID-€60

The 1 day Basic First Aid course is suitable for parents, grandparents, babysitters and creche workers and anyone else who is interested to learning or refreshing life saving skills.
It covers all major paediatric as well as adult emergencies and illnesses including CPR and how to deal with choking.
The content will be delivered in an unique style based on class participation, role play, lots of interaction between the tutor and students.
At the end each participant will receive a certificate of attendance valid for 1year. The course cost includes all material and a cert on completion of the course.

SPORTS INJURY FIRST AID-€80/COMBINED SPORTS INJURY FIRST AID WITH CPR AND AED-€140

The recognition, assessment, and immediate on-site management of sports injuries are crucial to facilitate rehabilitation and to minimise further risk of harm to the athlete. This course is designed for coaches, instructors, teachers, supervisors, sports assistants, and volunteers, teaches the medical assessment and management of a wide variety of sports injuries. Importantly, participants will also know how to recognise when professional medical referral is warranted.

Upon successful completion of the course participants are presented with a Sports First Aid Certificate

Those who do the combined course will get the above cert and a Heartsaver AED card from the Irish Heart Foundation, which is valid for two years.

WILDERNESS FIRST AID-€180

This course can cost up to €230 with other companies.

What's it about? This is a two day course which covers Outdoors / Wilderness First Aid.

The course is intended to enable someone travelling in remote areas to deal with most First Aid situations, especially when professional help is not available in short time. We will train you how to deal with Hypothermia, Dehydration and other life threatening environmental threats to human health. Also dealing with burns, strains, sprains, etc.. The foremost skill we will impart, is how to deal with First Aid emergencies by adapting available materials and resources.

All our courses involve camping out, please bring your own tent or shelter. You will be based in and around an Expedition type camp. evenings will be spent around the campfire exchanging stories over coffee, or tea if you like. Courses will go ahead in all but the most extreme weather. You will be issued with a cert at the end of the course.
