Rathgormack week 25th -29th May

This week, the children jumped straight into water play and made the most of the hot, sunny weather! ☀️💦

We had a very exciting new friend helping us stay cool — our water octopus! 🐙🚿 The children loved running around in the grass, splashing, laughing, and getting soaked to keep cool throughout the day. Even the adults joined in on the fun! 😂💧

We also spent lots of time reminding the children about sun safety 🌞🧴🧢 — playing in the shade when it got too hot, wearing suncream and hats, and making sure everyone drank plenty of water. 💦

The children had great fun with water balloons too 🎈💧, chasing each other around and trying to splash their friends!

On Friday, we also celebrated Ollie’s 4th birthday! 🎉🎂 Happy Birthday, Ollie! Everyone loved singing Happy Birthday and enjoying some yummy cake outside in the sunshine. ☀️🍰

Kilsheelan last week enjoyed praticing for graduation, getting our photos taken 📸💖, and making wonderful memories together 🥰

Rathgormack Last week marked the beginning of the end of a very special year for our preschoolers 🎓✨ We have been having so much fun practicing for graduation, getting our photos taken 📸💖, and making wonderful memories together 🥰

🌞 A Wonderful Week Outdoors!*🌿

This week, our preschoolers embraced the great outdoors and made the most of the beautiful sunshine! ☀️

We enjoyed a lovely trip to the local playground, where the children learned all about road safety and traffic lights 🚦 while walking together. Once we arrived, there was plenty of time for fun-filled play and exploration 🛝

Our exciting Sports Day was a highlight of the week! 🏅 The children took part in egg and spoon races 🥄🥚, bowling 🎳, tug of war 🤝, ring toss, and long throws with beanbags. Even the teachers joined in the fun, making it a fantastic day for everyone! 😄

We also became little nature explorers 🌼🐞, searching for new flowers and bugs. The children were fascinated to discover a little stink bug and loved watching it crawl around (luckily, it stayed calm and didn’t release its odour! 🐛). We finished off by creating beautiful daisy chains from flowers picked in the garden 🌸

It has truly been a week full of fun, learning, and laughter in the sunshine! 🌈

🌸 Springtime Fun in Preschool! 🌸

We’ve had a wonderful week full of learning, creativity, and outdoor adventures! 🌿🐄

At the start of the week, the children explored their growing interest in farm life by cutting out and creating their very own farm animals 🐖🐑. They proudly designed their own farms while chatting about the animals they see on their journeys to school—and some even shared stories about living on farms themselves! 🚜💬

We made the most of the beautiful spring weather by heading outdoors ☀️, where the children enjoyed picking dandelions from our grassy area 🌼. This led to a lovely, hands-on water play activity as we created our very own “dandelion tea” 🍵. This sensory experience supported fine motor skills, creativity, and early scientific exploration as the children observed, mixed, and discussed their discoveries.

There was also plenty of time for social fun, including a cheerful picnic in the sunshine 🧺🍎 with friends—encouraging communication, sharing, and relationship-building.

🌍 In celebration of World Earth Day, we had meaningful discussions about the importance of caring for our planet. The children shared thoughtful ideas about keeping the Earth clean and protecting nature 💚♻️.

It’s been a week full of outdoor fun, creativity, and learning—what a fantastic way to welcome spring! 🌷✨

🌸🌼 Spring Fun This Week!🌼🌸

This week we learned all about springand all the wonderful things that come with it! 🌷🌈 The children learned a lovely spring song along with some fun actions — they absolutely loved it and had so much fun joining in! 🎶💃

We also got creative making friendship bracelets using painted pasta 🎨🍝 This activity supported the children’s fine motor skills, creativity, and social development as they shared materials and created something special for their friends 💕

The children were then encouraged to create things that remind them of spring using their own memories and ideas 🌼🌈 This supported their imagination, memory recall, language development, and ability to express their own thoughts and experiences💭✨ They used peg boards to bring their ideas to life, which also supports hand-eye coordination, concentration, and fine motor skills🌟

🌈 Spring Playdough Creations🌈
We made our very own homemade playdough, adding paint to make it bright and colourful! The children created things they associate with spring 🌼 This activity supported sensory play, creativity, and imaginative thinking.

We saw so many wonderful creations including 🐑 lambs, 🌈 rainbows, 🐝 bumblebees, 🦋 butterflies, 🐦 birds’ nests and so much more — such a fun and creative week! 😍✨
