AS SEEN ON CHILDCARE.IE Things you should know about our preschool service. My name is Deirdre I am the manager and have 15 years experience working with children. Here at Jellytots we offer your child/children the very best of care and education. Our staff have a passion for working with young children and are all fully qualified and Garda vetted. This is a learning through play setting. We use guidelines from both SIOLTA and AISTER the early childhood curriculum. We have ECCE and CETS government schemes in operation so free places are on offer. This is a homely setting and Family are very important to us so parents can be closely involved in how there child learns and are most welcome in this service, we have an open door policy. As members of early childhood Ireland we take our work very seriously and your child will learn through our commitment.. Social and emotional development, speech and language development, intellectual development and physical development and we do this all through playing as this is the childs work. Our service is open from 8am for early drop off and breakfast club, and up until 5:00 pm for CETS and homework club/after school care 5 days a week. We cater for two and a half year olds right up to 12 years of age. Our setting is run from the local community centre in the heart of the village of Ballyduff. The community centre has underwent a complete redevelopment and we have a beautiful new and bright spacious room to the front of the new building. The local national school is directly across the road from us which makes it very handy for parents with more than one child. We also do lots of arts and crafts work with both pre-school and afterschool. During the holiday breaks we also run Art and Craft Camps with plenty games and fun activities. Keep an eye on here for any updates on the pre-school, afterschool and camps. *** Watch this space for updates on the New Community Centre Official Opening!!!*** For any queries on any of the above please don't hesitate to contact us. 085-1048367 or by email: [email protected]

What are your thoughts ? This is proposed to begin at age 4?
In 2019 the Oireachtas Committee on Education & Skills released a report on Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) calling for a complete change in how relationships and sexuality are taught in Irish schools. The committee heard from 54 liberal-left pressure groups, sex and gender activists and NGOs — many agitating for their own very permissive sexual preferences and sexual agendas to be compulsorily imposed on all Irish schools.
As a result, the committee’s RSE recommendations include:
Compulsory sex education lessons should start at primary school.
Children should be taught about LGBTQI+ experiences and sexual practices in RSE lessons.
Children should be taught that there is a spectrum of
gender identities —not just biological males or females. In other words, children will be taught that boys can be girls and girls can be boys, regardless of biology.
Children should be taught abortion as “reproductive healthcare”.
Children should be taught about “sexual consent”, even though most will under the legal age of 17.
Children should be taught ‘porn literacy’
The new RSE programme to be prepared by the National Council for Curriculum & Assessment (NCCA) will adopt these recommendations and create a syllabus around them, with limited input from parents.
The government is planning to amend the Education Act (1998) to remove every school’s right to maintain its own ethos. This will mean no opt out for any parents. This is a deliberate and underhand attempt to get around Article 42.1 of Ireland’s Constitution, which is supposed to guarantee every parent's right to be “the main and natural educators of their children”.
As a result, extremely sexualised RSE lessons will be compulsory for every child in every classroom in Ireland and you, as parents, will not be able to object.
Some of our safety items arrived today. Cant wait to get everything sorted and be back to doing what I love. 😘😘🥰
[07/10/20] Enrollment forms are available as are a few places vacant for ecce in september.
This is a story for you to read to preschool children it may help them to understand a little about what is happening. ❤ hope you are all well. Deirdre
PARCC have been notified that 49 services are closing 25 are sessional and 24 are FDC, part time and after-school . This is being seriously underestimated by the Department and the media. We will update every time we hear of another service as everyone needs to know the reality. Each house represents another closing service. Imagine if we put people to reflect the amount of people these closures affect.
****We must be given the area/name of the school for it to count otherwise we could be counting services more than once. You can send us a private message *****
This morning we had a little graduation for the children who are moving on to big school.❤ Practicing social distancing. One child at a time. Was the best we could do under the circumstances. We would have loved to have all the children back to say goodbye for the summer but that would have been too many people. So for children who are returning to us in September we will celebrate your return ❤ we will miss you all and we are so proud of you all. 💜💔Thank you to all the wonderful parents for all your support over the past 2 years. Take care.
Deirdre, Jenny, Ali and Shannon. 🌺.
Hope all our lovely Dads are getting spoilt today. Enjoy 💙

Still awaiting more details from other governing boddies. I hope your all keeping well. Talk to you soon. Deirdre.

Keep smiling and stay safe. ❤❤❤❤❤
So what do you think? Boggling
Unsure of the author.
Dear leo, and the rest 😳. Thanks for your great advice.
Just come and spend a day with us and then you might think twice.
Please wash your hands on entry. Sit on a carpet tile.
Now shush! Here come the children. Please greet them with a smile.
Hello and welcome back, my loves. You’ll see some things have changed.
Yes, Charlie,Our room looks different. We’ve had to rearrange
The desks, the toys, the books and games, the paints and pencil pots..
No, leo!!Sit back down again and don’t move off that spot.
Now listen carefully, my loves. I’m going to try and seat us
In a safe and special place, with space between: two metres.
But, Miss! I never sit just here. I always sit by josh
I know that, Charlie, but now you can’t. Just blame Coronavirus.
Help, Miss! My head is itching! Can you see if I’ve got bugs?
Yes, Lizzie. Please, oh please, stand still. Where are my plastic gloves?
No, Ellie, Please put that ipad down. It’s not been cleaned with dettol.
And don’t touch doorknobs, spades or bikes. The virus lives on metal.
Miss! Can I have the dressing-up? I’m playing Spiderman!
No, Jacob, you can’t. I’m sorry, but all soft toys have been banned.
Please, Jack, can you wipe your nose? We need to stay alert.
Oh, no. Please use a tissue, love! Don’t wipe it on my skirt.
Miss, look! I’m on a pirate ship! I’m climbing, out of reach.
No, Zach,You’re not allowed on there. It can’t be cleaned with bleach.
Miss! Where’s the box of Lego ‘coz I want to build a farm?
I’m sorry, Heidi, but that’s gone too as small toys cause great harm.
They can’t be cleaned enough you see and will be full of germs.
Yes, Ellie! You’re right! I know I said that when you play, you learn.
Miss! Conors spitting water out, all over my lunch tray!
Oh! Can you get a fresh one and a disinfectant spray?
Miss! I can’t find the playdough and I want to make some worms.
Sorry, Jake. It’s in the bin. It’s full of nasty germs.
No, Jamie!!Give that bottle back as it belongs to Lily.
What? Yes, I know she’s being kind. Now’s not the time to share.
Yes! I know that sharing’s good. It’s contradictory..
Julia!! Please stop hugging Eva like that. Miss! Taylor’s done a wee.
Lily-Ella, please don’t chew that pen, as Ellie sucked it too.
Miss! Can you come and help me? I just did a huge great poo!
Ok! Stand in your safe space and I’ll don my PPE.
And Jacob, please don’t chew that book. You’ll be the death of me.
No, our school trip’s cancelled and our play and disco too.
And Heidi, Julia Ellie and Emme, will you stop swapping shoes?
Miss! Come and see the castles that I’m building in the sand!
Oh sorry, Eva, You can’t play there. It’s germy, so it’s banned.
What? Ava,s slipped and cut her knee? Oh yes! There’s lots of blood.
Have we got a plastic apron and another pair of gloves?
Miss, I’m scared coz my Mum said, to Nan and Auntie Joyce,
That’s school’s not safe? She’s got to work. She hasn’t got a choice.
And now I’m here. It’s not the same. Just not what I remember.
And Daddy said it’s dangerous and to stay home ‘til September.
I just don’t understand it and my head is in a muddle.
I know you said two metres but please, can I have a cuddle?
Oh Children! Please stop crying now. What don’t you understand?
Just stay alert, six foot apart and wash your flipping hands!
So leo and the rest ...I hope you’ve enjoyed your stay?
There’s nothing to it, is there? It’s just child’s play.
Dont forget your sun cream children. ❤ It is a glorious day ....###
It's that time of year please ensure your child has hat and suncream on.
We do supply suncream but you know your child's skin best. Let's all enjoy the sun safely.
Being prepared though I'd say it be September for us xx😥
