Let's Get Ready

The Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Dr Katherine Zappone and the Minister for Education and Skills Joe McHugh TD, launched an initiative for children and families – Let’s Get Ready – a gov.ie resource to support young children and their parents/guardians plan for returning to Early Learning and Care (ELC) settings or transitioning to pre-school or primary school for the first time.

As Early Learning and Care settings plan to re-open from 29 June, the Let’s Get Ready website provides guidance
for children and parents preparing to return these settings. There is a particular focus on new public health requirements introduced in response to COVID-19.

Ardmore Open Farm & Mini Zoo

We're back open after 3 months β˜€οΈ
We've reduced entry to 10euro per person, please use contactless where possible.
Here's just some of the ways we're making your visit as safe as possible:

- The open farm & mini zoo will now operate a one way system
- Visitors must book ahead (www.ardmoreopenfarm.ie.)
- Indoor seating area and play areas are closed but we are doing a take out menu to eat at our picnic tables
- We've installed sanitizer stations throughout the area
- We're following the 2 meter social distancing rule, with lots of reminders stuck up around the farm
- We've set up picnic areas set up outside and another picnic area that has overhead cover.

If you've any questions, just ask!

We look forward to welcoming you all back.

THIRTY MILLION CHILDREN rely on school for food. Responding to the needs of kids during these school closures, Save the Children US and No Kid Hungry have a new fund #SAVEWITHSTORIES to support food banks, and mobile meal trucks, and community feeding programs with funds to do what they do bestβ€”and alsoβ€”with educational toys, books, and worksheets to make sure brains are full, as well as bellies.

If you can manage a one time gift of $10, please text SAVE to 20222. If another amount would work better for you, please visit our websiteβ€”http://ow.ly/gxuV30qq1nf. There is no maximum and there is no minimumβ€”together we will rise and together we can help.

Thank you and stay safe. XX

This is a lovely poster giving ideas of activities that you can do at home with your child in preparation for the transition to school. These activities will support your child to develop pre writing skills. So lots of poking and moulding of play doh, threading with laces, painting, pegging out the washing, and cutting crafts will support your child with writing in school.✏️✏️✏️
