A few activities that may help children during this challenging time 😊
Cork City Childcare
Mental Health Ireland have put together a Family Well-being planner for families across Ireland. Brilliant way to check in with one another and have a talk about each family members emotional well-being and what can be done to ensure that self care is practiced during this time 🥰 Always be kind you do not know what may be going on for another.
It's so important to be kind to ourselves and just get through this time as best as we can 💖 We hope all our families are doing well and staying safe. We miss you all loads 🤗

It's the second week of our 'Julia Donaldson and Friends' broadcast!
This week Julia Donaldson is sharing a performance of the 'What the Ladybird Heard' song, and illustrator Lydia Monks will be reading the brand new Ladybird Heard story, 'What the Ladybird Heard at the Seaside.'
Here's Karen from Mini Musos singing one of our favourite songs! 🐰 Happy hopping!!
A lovely movement song , fun for this time of year, Easter Weekend!!
This simple yet fun song encompasses so many aspects of our little ones learning and development tapping into:
🐰Creative imagination, pretending to be little bunnies
🐰Listening skills, waiting for that moment to jump up!
🐰Gross Motor Moves as we Hop, Run, Wiggle.
🐰Language development, through repetition of new words
🐰Memory Activation, can we remember at the end the 3 actions we did throughout the song?
🐰 Musicality , subconsciously understanding dynamics , when to play loud and soft, tempo matched with their motor movement : moving slower for hopping and faster for wiggling.
You can adapt this for babies and bounce them on your knee, helping them to move on various ways, encouraging them to sit still and listen... you'll be surprised how the take it all in after a few goes!!!
Would you have thought there were so many elements in this song for your little ones development?

Silvia came across this idea and can’t wait to share it with the toddler room when we get back to normal! Other than the fun you will have it’s a great activity to keep those little hands clean! 🦠
When in doubt, make play foam 😉. At least that’s my moto (and plan for the day 😂). About a year ago I saw Lucy @flisatfun share some play foam and I was like 🤩. Tried it right away and was instantly hooked! Its fluffy, vibrant, smells amazing and so soft to play with. Make sure to check her out to see how she makes hers ❤️ (it’s a little different than mine). You don’t need to make allll the colors to make it fun! One or two will do😜. If you want a fun indoors version, check out @hellowonderful_co. Agnes has an epic bath version with a secret ingredient to make it extra thick!
-1 cup water
-2-3 tbsp soap (preferable tear free for kids)
-Food coloring, washable paint or liquid water colors
1️⃣Add the water, soap and food coloring to the blender.
2️⃣Blend well. Start at a low speed and work yourself to medium speed. Blend for about 1 minute or until you achieve your desired texture.
3️⃣Pour out into a container and have fun!
❤️I’d love to hear what you think of this ❤️ #mothercould

Sarah from the toddler room had planned on doing these cute Easter chicks with the children 🐣 if you have no paint mix cornflour, water and some food colouring together! For babies you can mix yogurt and food colouring together to make a tasty paint 🎨
Niamh from the after school in Mount Suir has a fun activity for all ages! This is a great one to keep little hands busy rolling the dough before putting your handprint on ☺️ *send in pictures of your lovely creations*
A special message from the Taoiseach himself, the Easter Bunny will be allowed to travel into Ireland this weekend to deliver Easter eggs to all the little ones and adults too 😉 so not to worry! 🐰
Have you got washing up liquid, an empty bottle with a lid and an old *clean* sock at home?? Catherine has a bubble idea for you!
Try this for the easiest home bubble maker. You will need: an empty bottle, a sock and a mixture of water and washing up liquid. Cut the bottom off the bottle. Pull the sock up over the bottle. Dip the bottom of the bottle into the bubble mixture and blow through the spout of the bottle. If your bottle has a screw cap you will need to put a hole in the cap to blow through. Blow softly to make a longer train of bubbles. Enjoy 😁
☀️ Morning everyone! ☀️ We have a lovely simple activity from Michelle in the junior preschool room this morning that will keep the children busy with things you might even have in your cupboard! Start with a plain biscuit, make up some icing with icing sugar and some food colouring and decorate your biscuits using teaspoons.. at the end you can add some sweets! Michelle suggests some jelly tots or smarties 🤤 followed by some outdoor play to handle the sugar rush! *Feel free to send in pictures of what you are all getting up to, we miss you all!
