Access IT CLG formally the Computer Access Co-operative was established in 1997 through an identified need in the Ballybeg Community for training in Information Technology. With the support of the Ballybeg Community Development Project, Local Volunteers, Waterford Regional Youth Services and the Department of Social Community and Family Affairs a working group of local people established a small computer room with 10 personal computers in the Parish Centre, which was opened to the public in late 1997. The Voluntary Working group developed a training manual and delivered an Introductory and Advanced course in computers to small groups of local people on a voluntary basis. The group quickly identified the need for accreditation systems, and in 2000 with the aid of funding from the Ireland Funds became approved by the ECDL (European Computer Drivers Licence) as an accredited Training and Test Centre.

Access I.T. is delighted to announce a range of FREE classes and workshops designed to help people build their confidence and develop practical digital skills in a friendly, supportive environment.

📱 1. Free Smartphone Apps Workshop
🗓️ Monday, 19 October
⏰ 10:00 am – 12:00 noon
Learn how to use apps on your smartphone and discover how they can make everyday life easier.
Funded by the Department of Social Protection.

💻 2. Beginners' PC Course
🗓️ Starting Thursday, 22 October
⏰ 10:00 am – 12:00 noon
📚 One morning per week for 7 weeks.
A great opportunity for beginners to develop their computer skills and gain confidence using a PC.
Funded by REACH.

👥 3. Over 55s Computer Club
🗓️ Thursdays – start date to be confirmed
⏰ 10:00 am – 12:00 noon
An ongoing weekly club offering a welcoming space for over-55s to learn, practise computer skills and build confidence with technology.

📱 4. Smartphone Classes
🗓️ Start date to be confirmed
⏰ One morning per week, 10:00 am – 12:00 noon
📚 7-week course.
Learn how to get more from your smartphone in a relaxed and supportive setting.
Funded by REACH.
