Innovation, teamwork and creativity in action at Kilmacthomas Further Education and Training Centres!
Our 1st Year Enterprise Studies – Start Your Own Business learners recently took part in a Lego® Serious Play® workshop, a powerful learning method designed to spark ideas, solve problems, and build stronger teamwork skills.
Led by Nicola Kelleher from WWETB Learning Support, the session encouraged learners to think differently, communicate openly, and explore what effective group work really looks like — all through the simple act of building with LEGO® bricks.
At FET Centre Kilmacthomas, we believe learning should be interactive, practical, and fun, helping learners develop the confidence and creativity needed for business and entrepreneurship.
A fantastic session full of collaboration, imagination, and great conversations!

✨ Kilmacthomas FET Centre at Showcase Ireland ✨
Our first-year VTOS Start Your Own Business learners recently took a trip to Showcase Ireland, where they met with a wide range of businesses and gained valuable, real-world insights into the world of entrepreneurship and Irish enterprise.
The visit formed part of their Entrepreneurial Skills module, giving learners the opportunity to see innovation, creativity, product development, and branding in action — straight from the source.
A fantastic learning experience that brought classroom theory to life and sparked great discussions around business ideas, markets, and opportunities.
Well done to all involved 👏
We took advantage of the gorgeous day and headed outside to film some Digital Editing content.
Fiona was trying to explain Waterford sayings to Anastasiia and Tetiana… and yez can imagine how that went! 😂
Here is a sneak peak! From “I will yeah” to a few other Déise classics, we had great laughs and great learning — a proper mix of culture, language, and digital skills for our Ukrainian learners here at WWETB Kilmacthomas. 💙
We were all glued to the TV last Friday as we watched Billy and Mary of on Nationwide.

Congratulations to our Christina Drennan, Visual Artist who has been shortlisted for the Full Circle Awards, in the Creative Circular Artist category.
Christina use refashioned fabrics, woven wool, waste thread, and other preloved or leftover bits to create stitched wall art, and slow-made pieces that carry meaning.
Launching on September 24th, 2025, the Full Circle Awards is a new scheme by Circular.ie designed to celebrate everyday heroes who champion circular living across Ireland.

It was great meeting everyone at the Further Education and Training (FET) information morning yesterday, and getting to know all our new learners in the centre.
