Shells, a few sea patterned serviettes and a quiet couple of hours. That is all it takes! This small group settled in fast, heads down, working out which pattern to put on which shell. There was problem solving, there was laughing and there were plenty of questions, including if we do more workshops.
By the end everyone had something they had made themselves and genuinely liked and the pride in that was the best part of the day. Thank you to Aiseiri for having us.

Our gelliprinting workshop Layer Upon Layer was the last one in the summer series in Ferrybank. Eight participants, one even from Dungarvan, explored gelliprinting with dried botanicals, capturing natural shapes and textures. A big thanks from all participants to Hillsfield Community Centre and Ferrybank Men's Shed for supporting Conscious Crafting.

There was some initial hesitation and plenty of curiosity about gelliprinting, but experimenting soon took over. The group with young and old created some striking prints as well as plenty of new collage paper to use in future workshops.

The Coastal Keepsakes workshop at Hillsfield Community Centre was enjoyed by local ladies and kids. We decoupaged sea patterns onto mussel and oyster shells, with thanks to Ferrybank Men's Shed for their support.

The group were relaxed and focused, enjoying the social side of making together. One mother was initially concerned the activity might be too fiddly for her kids, but they soon got into it and created many lovely shells. new and returning participants commented on how relaxing the activity was and how nice it was to take some time for themselves.

Two Can Play That Game brought six participants together to create collage backgammon boards using recycled materials, complementary colours, gelliprints and patterned paper. The group were focused and engaged, enjoying the social side of making together.

Participants helped each other with their folding boards, creating a collaborative atmosphere and some unexpected colour combinations along the way.

Summer Swirls brought locals young and old from Ferrybank together at Hillfield community center. for a colourful tie-dye workshop.

Participants experimented with different folds, colour combinations and tie-dye patterns to create their own one-of-a-kind T-shirts. A big thanks to Ferrybank Men's Shed for their support.

Last Tuesday we did our first workshop for the Ferrybank Community in the Hillsfield Centre. It was great to be back and have some new faces join. We decorated small glass bottles using recycled materials, shells and stones before placing personal letters inside. It was a great creative process, especially as everyone worked out how to make the removable stopper to complete their bottles.

The social aspect of the workshop stood out, with participants making new connections and taking pride in their finished pieces. We hope to see you back for next weeks’ workshop Summer Swirls where we will be doing some tie dyeing!
