Here at the Mercy Pre-School LTD we use a play based curriculum. We believe by using this curriculum, we support all children's holistic learning and development. Our curriculum is based on valuing the emerging interests of each child. We support each child in our service to be confident and independent. Through large and small group activities , Meeting the holistic development needs of all children.

The NCSE have released the application process to apply for a special class place or for a special school for September 2027.

A place must be applied for by the 1st September 2026 and supporting documentation must be submitted by the 15th September 2026.

Summer Stars, the free national reading programme for children developed by Libraries Ireland as part of the Right to Read initiative, runs throughout the summer months from June until the end of August. 📚☀️

Summer Stars encourages children to continue enjoying reading and storytelling during the summer through books, activities, events and creative challenges taking place in public libraries across Ireland.

Participating in shared reading experiences can help to support children’s language, literacy, imagination and communication skills while also fostering a lifelong love of books and learning.

From today, children finishing pre‑school can:
✔️ Collect a free book bag
✔️ Join the library (membership is free)
✔️ Discover their local library and get ready for school
Bags are available all summer, in English and Irish, in libraries nationwide.
