Golf Ireland Championship News

Over the past few weeks Tadhg Connell, Jack Kearns, Conor Smullen and Eva Lowndes played in numerous championship all over the country. Tadhg played in the Leinster U18, Connacht U18 T22, Ulster U18 T14 and Munster U18 T13. Tadhg also took part in the English boys championship Jack played in the Ulster U16, Conor played in the Ulster U16 and Muster U16. Eva played in the Leinster U18, Connacht U18 and the Woman's and girls close championship. Well done to all our players and keep up the good work.

Well done to our boys foursomes team who had a great win over Birr G.C recently. The team consisted of Jack Kearns, Sean Condron, Noah Gorman and Conor Smullen. Our boys Fred Daly team put up a good performance against Edenderry but unfortunately were not victorious. We wish Edenderry the best of luck in the next round. The team consisted of Jack Connaughton, Jack Kearns, Conor Smullen, Davin Hanneffy and Sean Condron. Thanks to Donal Connaughton for looking after the team in Edenderry

Well done to Eva Lowndes on making the cut in the Irish Girls Amateur Open Championship in Corrstown Golf Club with rounds 80, 78 and 79 to finish in T29. The is the flagship event in Ireland at girls U18 level and a very good performance over the three days.

Well done to Tadhg Connell on making the cut in the Irish Boys Amateur Open Championship in Malone Golf Club with rounds 77, 72 and 80 to finish in T39. The is the flagship event in Ireland at boys U18 level.Tadhg also competed in the Scottish boys open championship in his first oversees tournament his best round coming in the second round of 76

In Bunclody Golf Club Jack Kearns and Conor Smullen made their Golf Ireland championship debut at U16 level. To qualify for the championship field was a very good achievement for the lads as they are only in their 3rd season of golf. Played in tricky conditions Jack was just a few shots off being in mid table, but both lads will have learned a lot which will help them over the coming season. Jack continued his good form with a nice hole in one in Moyvalley in a recent classic.

In the recent Irish Junior Open series Tom McKibben elite WAGR trophy event held in New Forest Padraig Carton and Tadhg Connell took part on the 54 hole strokeplay competition. Tadhg finished in 11th place overall and his highlight coming in round 3 with a hole in one on the 16th hole

In the Irish Junior Open series Payne Stewart Memorial Trophy stableford competition Eva Lowndes won the girls U19 gross category with a score of +6 for 30 gross points
Kelly Kilmurray finished 14th in the nett category with a very strong showing of 33 pts.
In the U14 nett Category Lauren O'Reilly and Pippa Cuffe put in solid displays both scoring 28 pts each.
Sean Condron with 26 Pts and Ryan Hanley just finishing behind the girls but with solid displays and plenty of pars on the cards. In the U11 Category Keegan Lowndes finished in 15th place in the nett category which is very good progress with the golf sixes league and interclub approaching.

In the KPMG Irish Kids golf tour Adam Masterson and Keegan Lowndes took part in the Boys 10 and under. Both lads played very good golf and Adam on his debut on the tour putting in an excellent score
